Anyone notice how for a lot of, if not all, escort quests the NPC is uber slow? I mean, you can't change your speed to move slower for them and you are running to get them somewhere, and they're so slow they can get lost and then you'll have to go back for them and they could even be dead. To me it gets annoying. lol

I think the whole point was so that you could go ahead a kill stuff while they stayed a bit behind. Only they made them far too slow.

Well, you got to remember that there are quite a bit of people that are horribly inept when it comes to killing stuff quickly.

Abbadon's Mouth should be like the griffon quest in FoW where they follow u and at a reasonable speed...

Escort quests are my least favourite type of quest in every rpg game! I simply hate it. Argh!

And yes escorts can be very slow !

no joke. could do the mission in 1/2 the time if she would pick up the pace a little.

Without the auto-kick if they die. Grah. I hate that quest. Lost it so many times due to dumb people. PUGged FoW last night out of pure boredom, one took the quest despite all the time we discussed WHY not taking it (no one felt like doing it anyways) and we ended up clearing everything with me staying with the griffons.

Reminds me of Jokanur's Diggings. The last ghost moves so slow -_-. It's easy even with low-level characters... at least with lv20's it gives you enough time to go AFK while the ghost gets there But annoying still.

All things considered, I'd much rather they go slow than they go Rurik-style fast...

Or, not clear the path ahead, and do it one run.

did abbadons mouth last night.....cleared the fort and then did a first quick pass at the dryders in the bonus area .....came back thru the fort and went to pick up Leah.....then ran ahead to clear the rest of the path.....cleared and then went to find her, nope she had not made it to the end, nope she was not somewheres along the path, she was still wandering in the place she started! another 10 minutes to get her over the bridge and start running.....ugh.

yeah the Leah (NOT leaf) thing is very annoying.......if you are doing it with a group, half the ppl are away when you finally get the bonus, so you gotta even wait longer.

there's the one in realm of torment where you gotta escort the guy to the library, and various other ones.........generally the strategy is, if you haven't done it before, learn their path the first time, then clear it the second time around

that's games though.......there are very few original quest ideas any more, and the escort thing is something you see in all games......that and fetch key to open door, or ups missions
