The Guild Wars Bonus Mission Pack promotion ends October 31 2007! Don't miss out on the opportunity to get it for free*!

After reading this, does anyone else get the idea that the bonus mission pack will become available in the in-game store/retail eventually?

I have little doubt they'll offer the pack on its own either at release or a bit after--they'd be foolish not to, really, though I can only imagine the outcry on the forums after such.

"omg i bougt threee char slots for nothing!!!!! anet u ripped me offf!!!"

Most likely, but bundled with the expansion or some kind of Blizzard-esque "Battle Chest." I don't see why they would package something shorter than an expansion by itself though. Furthermore, the Mission Pack isn't free since you need to spend 30 bucks online to attain it.

I dunno.

I bought 3 character slots. So even if they sell it later I still get the pack and the slots.

Its not free like they claim, but it's better than paying the price and only getting one of those two.

I've spent over £100 purchasing the four Guild Wars games, so I should be entitled to this pack for free no? It's crazy to charge for something so miniscule.

I bought GW:EN from the online store. It was as easy as a transaction could possibly be. My bonus pack was, therefore, 100%, totally free.

Nifty, huh?

EDIT: Actually, having thought about it, I suppose the bonus pack cost me a cardboard box and a boring paper manual.

Guess which I'd rather have. ^_^

EDIT #2: But I saved money on gas.

Theoetically free is not the same as actually free. Hence the asterik and disclaimer.

um. it *is* free of charge. free of charge doesn't automatically mean free of conditions. spending 30 bucks online is a condition. doesn't change the fact that the mish pack is free of charge.

and it'd be in anet's interest to sell it via the store. maybe at 3.99 a pop or something.

If it weren't for the bonus pack being dangled so temptingly, I would have bought the expansion for less at Fry's.

IMO, they had plans all along to offer it for sale, but kept those plans from the players so we'd buy from the online store.

well if you get the bonus pack by purchasing EN from play nc, its not entirely free... since many other websites offer it for cheaper than the RRP, and hence the difference is really the cost of the bonus mission pack

But then i got my preorder already, so im definetly getting it from Play NC =P

You wish. Its gonna cost nearly the same as the amount to get it from the promotion as the same package. Bonus Mission Pack.

Don't worry. They're not going to make it buyable. What they ARE going to do is get a bunch of planes and banners and lob the things all over the world for whoever can pick them up fastest.

Indeed, they also kept it a secret the bonus mission pack will be a solo experience and with pre-set characters. I walked right into their trap.

You will hear alot of people cryin if they sell the BMP later. Think about it. If you thought (or was lead to believe) that the only way to get it was to buy from the online store (at a higher price) instead of a discount store and then Anet sells it later...... All the people who wanted a real box and disc but instead bought it through the store to get it will really be miffed. All of the people who could have bought EOTN for 10 to 15 dollars cheaper but instead bought it through the store for the BMP will be mad.

If I remember correctly it was stated officially by Anet that the ONLY way to get the BMP was to spend 29.99 in the online store. Gail and Anet were repeatedly asked if it was going to be available after the deadline for sale and they avoided answering that question.

I don't really see an easy way for Anet to offer it seperately without pissing off alot of customers......but has that really been a concern of theirs in the past anyway.
