I just made a Ranger in factions and just got an elite Ranger Tome. I want some input as to what elite skill/build would best suit my ranger until I can actually start capping
Thanks!
What Elite should I get?

[skill]barrage[/skill] always a good choice, add [skill]splinter weapon[/skill] couple of interrupts and pet and you're set
[skill]broad head arrow[/skill] another great one
what campaigns are you limited to? and what elites have you unlocked previously that you can use the tome on? that'll help people make suggestions for you.

IMO [skill]Prepared Shot[/skill] get that.
[skill]Broad Head Arrow[/skill] is an early and easy cap in Factions.
[skill]Barrage[/skill] is an early and easy cap in Nightfall.
[skill]Burning Arrow[/skill] is an early and easy cap in Nightfall.
but Prep Shot is all the way in the Realm of Torment in Nightfall.
And Barrage is NEVER always a good choice...
Unless the area you are in has at least 3+ critters bunched together continuously, Barrage is worthless.
And don't bring a pet with a bow build unless you're in a B/P team, it's just wasting 2 valuable slots that.

Depending on what sort of build you are going for, [card]Crippling shot[/card] can be useful (although you can get in EotN), If your going for degen, [card]Incendiary Arrows[/card] or [card]Melandru's Arrows[/card] are good choices.
Or for interuption my current favorite (aside from BHA, which is an early factions cap) is [card]Magebane shot[/card]

If you're asking because you specifically want to know what skill to use your elite ranger tome on, make sure its an elite that's hard to get. Make that tome worthwhile.
Barrage is easy to cap. So is Burning Arrow. Broadhead Arrow and Magebane are slightly less easy. Its not worth using a tome worth 5-10k for something you could cap normally in 10 minutes.
My recommendation is to use it on Crippling Shot. The hardest Ranger elite to get (in my opinion) that's still really worth using. Builds using it are extremely fun and effective in PvP if you're good with it. You can only get it on Perdition Rock, at the very end of Prophecies, so you have to get your (Canthan!) character all the way there. In my opinion, unless you're already at Ember Light Camp, its worth using the tome for.

barrage is pretty a must have for all rangers. Broadhead Arrow and Burning Arrow is also nice, mainly used depends on situation. Megabane is not really worth getting since d-shot + savage shot combo works pretty well for interupts. Crip Shot is nice for PvP but not every usefull in PvE, specially compare to other elites.

Whoops didn't realize that, scratch what I said.
In that case I'd have to go with [skill]Expert's Dexterity[/skill] or [skill]Glass Arrows[/skill]
Crippling Shot is in Drakkar Lake, very easy to get from Koren Wildrunner.
Magebane Shot isn't that great really, Concussion Shot and BHA are better for casters since you don't have to constantly use interrupts on them to interrupt them.

Barrage is the most useful elite, but Broadhead Arrow is the most powerful, so I'd get that.

Barrage Ain't that great, Players keep thinking that, in PvE I would prefer [skill]punishing shot[/skill] or [skill]broad head arrow[/skill] combined with [skill]epidemic[/skill] or [skill]prepared shot[/skill] for 10energy attacks spamming or [skill]burning arrow[/skill] combined with [skill]apply poison[/skill], Ranger's aren't just barrage

This is the key problem with Barrage. Because you need to spam it on recharge to get the most out of it, it's terrible if you plan on doing any serious interrupting. As such, it's reserved for damage builds only (like Splinter Barrage and such).
Good elites to use if you plan on doing some interrupting would be Burning Arrow, Prepared Shot, Broad Head Arrow (although I prefer the non-elite Concussion Shot), Magebane Shot, and Power Shot.

Or Strike as One in a Bow/Pet build. Use pet attacks for damage, use bow for interrupts. Never have to worry about missing an interrupt because of attack skills
