Hey ty for all replies even if you agree or not,
and to confirm my point :

I'm a customer, I don't care how it's process.
I buy things and it should be exactly what it's must be.
It's none of my business that how hard it's cost to fix -Blindfold-
to fit my character.

Be professionally don't act like GW is a free trial game,
that bugs allowed and will be fix or not rely on budget and time

For an example :

I buy canned food, I can't see how exactly the food in this can look like because it's sealed. Only imagine from advertise.

And when I open it **BANG** this can filled with food and **WORMS**
Wow what did u feel about worms in canned food?

It's not customer job to find why food filled with worms or how to fix it,
or it can't fix because too hard to do. It's a job of the Company that is making this canned food.

That's all I want to say. Don't forget it's just my feeling about this thing happen.

Nah I did not complained about color, shape or sense of the designer.
This is about why you release uncompletely work to your customer.

Pertaining to the clipping issue, I wish I remembered where I read Gaile's response to the initial complaints. The message I got from it was more or less that they knew about the issue but could/would not fix it. Not because they did'nt want to allocate the resources to fixing it, but because it was a limitation on the current game/engine. Now, if you coded the game you might understand how easy or hard it might be to change this. I certainly don't, and neither does anyone that is'nt on the team. We can speculate, and we can argue about changing the meshes etc etc., but from what they said, would you rather have it this way or not have it at all?

Dont get me wrong, it totally sucks to have gone through the trouble (which is alot in this case) to get something, only to find out that it looks totally third grade. Its unfair and a warning or something would have been nice to prevent people wasting their time.

Every single game suffers from clipping issues in one way or another. WoW has many clipping problems across many different models, and it's the most successful (going by playercount here) MMO on the market. Clipping can be a very complicated thing to tackle, and I say this as someone who has done 3D work on games. It's especially difficult when you have to take into consideration model scaling and various hairstyles. Going "Fix it please!" is greatly underestimating the difficulty of polishing some 3D assets.

Yes, an artist and a coder can spend countless hours trying to tackle clipping of a certain item and they may be able to make it less noticeable after much, much work. But in the scheme of things, that time could be better spent doing something else, particularly if they already have another large project to concentrate on (GW2).

Well, I guess the most obvious fix is to have four seperate headgear depending on your hair style. One for when it overlaps in the back (instead of getting the band around your head you get a mesmer style mask). One where it overlaps in the front (you get a mask that is more flush to your face. One that is a combination of the above two and the regular mask. Heck I would be semi-satisfied with just the normal one and mesmer style mask one. I am sure that would fix a good bit of the clipping issues with this item (save the ones where the character has hair infront of their face).

Fixing the clipping issues should not be that hard, it is should be simply a case of adding more models for the armor. The system is already in place to allow this, you know how the the armor for all classes varies subtily for all classes and male and female? This would work along the same principle only for hair styles. And how hard can it be for them to add armor models, they have done it in at least 6 cases before. (Remember the old 15k tormentors armor that looked like the 1.5k? or the semi-new chapter 1 monk armor they just now added?).

Some say their efforts can be better spent elsewhere, but what is a better investment than in their current projects to make the customers want to buy the next project? Currently, I along with many others are quite dissappointed by gwen (lack of completness, unoriginality in armor, general shortness), and parts of NF (lack of completness upon release, elite area). As it stands I do not plan to buy GW 2 until I see how complete it is when they release it.

It is late and I am rambling so I guess all I am really trying to say is how they fix and maintain GW will determain on how loyal their customers are in buying GW2, and fixing graphical errors will help this customer loyalty.

I'm sure when they made the glasses, they could have made custom adjustments to each hair style that would have clipping issues. Basically going through each hair style in the game that would have issues and making a replacement hair style. This replacement style would be the same in appearance, but will include the glasses in a perfected combination. That way when you switch to the glasses, you may not know it, but it switches to another hair style model that just looks the same but is programmed to work with the glasses without any clipping issues.

Sure it would take some time to do this for each hair style they'd need to work on. But consider possible new gamers who may happen to see this and get a bad impression from this one issue. It could happen.

I'm not trying to get on the case of the programmers. But it would be good to have that quality some artists have where they won't stop until it's right. There are people like this throughout the entertainment industry, stage production, dance, movies, music, etc. Perhaps this quality will fix this issue.

I think your idea would be the cleanest, but involves making a headgear for every hair type.....

Its just not practical or efficient, nor is it modular. In fact thats really sloppy from a design perspective.

Theres lots of things that need fixing before this. At least you can hide it.

HELL!

They havent even fixed the Female Dervish left elbow! Its all mishapen and looks like someone mangled it when she does animations.

If you mean hiding Blindfold while wearing it......................
so I must said "Why the hell I'm making it for?"

I wanna see blindfold on my char's face so I spend 5 hours to buy diessa chalice unless I would be pleased crafting other 1.5k headpiece in 1 mins to hide it.

Look at it this way....

You chose to get it. You probably didnt know it would look not so good. Yes its regretable and im sorry.

BUT I didnt choose to have an arm glitch on my dervish. I have no choice. I cant HIDE my arm. I cant swap it for another arm.

And its not a graphics oversight, its an actual animation error. I think those kinds of problems need to be dealt with more.

If you dont wanna deal with it anymore, you can thrash it if you want. I cant do that to my dervish's ARM.

I'm working on my Blindfold subject, and feel bad for your dervish's arm.

Did you reported to Arena Net and they do nothing?

I've heard from my friend that they do fix Gloom Shield or whatever shield that bug in monks arm 1 month after NF release.

I hope my Blindfold will get the chance too.

Honestly, personal opinion is that all the extra helms like the blindfold, glasses, etc... were horribly implimented and clip with just about everything. They shouldn't have put something into the game that is this horribly done. If I did that working for a 3D model design for a client, my boss would ask me when I'd have it finished. If I told him that was the final product, I'd be fired.

If it's going to be shit and they don't care enough to fix it then they shouldn't make the damn things so hard to get. It's still absolutely absurd to get a blindfold at all, and then to have them look horrible... I mean, come on.

Every time "New Build Available" we've been hoping for a fix. We have reported it (we being me and my guildies who have female dervishes).

even then, i dont expect a fix for a while because its not a gamebreaking issue.

Oh don't worry, there are still game breaking issues that haven't been addressed at all.

Meh, to me it just reinforces the opinion that GWEN armor was rushed and done half-assed. (I'm not saying that's true, just saying this doesn't help disprove the notion.)

yup!

*sips tea*

edit: Mordakai. while i dont see the game as rushed as everyone else does, i do see it as lacking extensive testing.
