Since there is unlikely to be a fix for these items, there is only one viable solution: THE ABILITY TO CHANGE HAIRSTYLES!!! That way, you could find one that goes with your accessories...now GW and Barbie will have something in common.

Yes, it's about majority. Since they can't make everyone happy all the time, it matters that majority is happy.

I for one simply don't care about such tiny details, since I play in 3rd person, and headwear is about 20 pixels in size.

You can see my ranger's hair clip with the right side of my shades. I was hoping the shades would go under the hair, as in be part of the face. Just another example.

Why, ANet, why! Why can't it be dyed!?

But seriously, that's a pretty popular monk hairdo, a lot've people are probably upset.

Is there a thread or something that shows what problems people are having with this? It would be nice to know what has issues before buying these things. If not someone should make one somewhere.

/signed. Fix the "Elite" armors so that you actually get something worth the grind required to craft it. The fix would require effort though, something Arena Net is not willing to invest into the outdated Guild Wars 1. So, doubtful any fix is going to happen. They would have to make each blindfold class specific, and then make sure that it didn't conflict with ANY of the hair textures. This would require a lot of energy and development time. They are too busy with Guild Wars 2 to be bothered with "trivial" matters.

Urm.... anyways yeah too bad that's next to impossible to fix without completely remodelling the hair, or removing your hair model and leaving you bald. And they can't just thin out the blindfold cuz then you'd have people complaining about how a chunk of their head is protruding through the blindfold.... This isn't the unreal 3 engine you know

Just a guess, but I think most of the dev team has already moved on to other projects. Therefore, this is why Gaile said there wouldn't be anymore changes. If you want better headgear, you can always export the character meshes and design your own.

Bitching and moaning can be fun, but this seems like a "Caveat Emptor" sort of situation. Everything can't look good on everyone; if it's the skinny jeans that just don't jive with your big butt or the blindfold that's gonna mess up your hair, sometimes you've just got to walk away.

I believe I remember seeing a post in which one of the devs explained that the way they modeled all the little trinkets for the head is that it does not actually attach to the toons existing "head", but that it replaces the head with a pre moulded model wearing the item. I wish i could find the thread so it would lend credence and make sense, but the point is, if that's the best that they could do for something that even they should have had the forethought to know would be a big deal (i.e., crowns, shades, blindfolds), then that's pretty damn sad.

EDIT: Found comment

This was Gaile's response as to why the blindfolds could not be dyed, I guess it relates to all the headgear pieces.

Answer: Yes, it was intended that masks not accept dyes, or rather, it was necessary that they not accept dyes due to technical limitations. The reason for this is that masks are, essentially, the "helm model." In order to place a helm of any sort on your character's head, we replace the hair with the helm. You may have noticed that when your long-haired PC puts on a hat of some sort -- the hair disappears, right? Well, with the blindfold, if we replace the hair with the "helm," the character will be bald! (There is an exception with the masks of the Mesmer, but we cannot extend that exception to all models, as they were not designed that way to begin with, as the Mesmer was.)

The technical limitation is something I imagine we'll address in Guild Wars 2. For Guild Wars, it's not something that we can change.

Very sloppy work. It is too bad ANet has said they don't plan to fix a bit of it either.

Considering my post is about to appear above Vin's, I shall not quote him.

It is third rate, 100% agree. THey could have made a workaround using all new code or using the mesmer's masks as a base.

Ya somethings are getting very annoying.

Last night I got myself "Mask of the JoJingJong" or whatever the hell it's called... the ninja maks, gave it to my assassin.

I spent a few mins in Dye Preview window deciding on how I was going to dye it, settled on a color scheme and clicked apply.... didn't look anything like what I previewed.

With Black Dye being in the mix, and 7K a pop, I spent almost 90K trying to get the color just right. It's still not right, but I'm not spending anymore on it.

It's annoying when something you expect to work and look right ends up looking so poorly done.

The dye problem was just annoying, but not being able to properly use some of the new headgear because it looks like they didn't even try to do it right is something else.

That's just horrid. Totally sloppy work. The worst thing is, the skeletons aren't that different from each other. It would not have taken a lick of work to avoid this.

This is utter sloppyness. Anet needs to get their act together, just about now. If Gaile has really confirmed this, she has been hypociritcal of her quote

"Stop putting Arenanet with the big businesses and how they don't care. That's a horrible generalization. We DO care about the player's input and our work, so stop knocking on us."

Well, not in those words exactly, but you get the drift. Some truth, Gaile. Some truth. Tell us to stop putting Arenanet with the big companies and how they don't care, then confirm that Arenanet is not even going to fix a few broken parts because they DON'T CARE.

This is disgusting. Nothing more to say. I really hope Gaile Grey or any Arenanet rep will read this, and maybe get a clue.
