Treasure Chest Grapes

Anybody else havng problems with Treasure Chests in Nightfall only dropping grapes? Ever since GWEN came out, all I get from the Treasure Chests are grape drops. I have eight characters, and I "farm" Treasure Chests once a month to pay for lockpicks and stuff.

Prior to GWEN, I used to get mostly gold drops from Treasure Chests. Now, I get all purples.

What's going on ANET?

They do that if you open them a few times. It happened way before GW:EN too

well since im a treasure hunter id say drops r so so

normal grapes to gold ratio 2/10 est. varies

hm mostly golds and tomes elite or normal and a few purples
depends how high end u go

Edit: Lul, I was tired and didn't see the "Nightfall" part >___>. Yeah, it's definitely because they were opened too many times.

you probably opened them for the third time. realized on my chars that those toons who opened a particular chest for the 3rd time got all purples, with greatly reduced platinum. i ran 6 or 7 chests, all the way till the domains, so i'm disinclined to think it's just bad luck. and i waited for 6 weeks just to be sure too.

maybe there's some other secret variable though.

if u open them first time, gold guarantee, but 2nd 3rd 4th... grape grape grape-_-

Just did the first 9 chests last week on 2 characters, both for the second time. 17 golds and 1 ruby. Also managed another 2 golds while running around to the chests. After seeling stuff I didn't want to keep, cleared about 28k or so.

Nice thing is I have another 1/2 dozen characters in various stages of NF. and 14 total.. Too bad I lack the patience to get them all to the point where that could get easy access to 7-9 chests. I could seriously cash in on just a single run each..lol

Ah well.. guess a slow trickle will work and the older characters will slowly decline into grapedom.

Ive been waiting for somewhere in the region of a billion years for the istan chests to reset. Can someone clarify, does the counter reset if you try to open it before its ready? (causing you to have to wait another month)

Yes, if you try and open the chest before it has reset, the timer will reset and you will have to wait a further month.

i just did a little run of chests cos i was bored and yeeeah i got grapes which was the first time evah. And these were on chests i hadn't gone to in a while, and the ones i had most recently visited still gave me golds. I was a little miffed. D: and the amount of gold had decreased slightly as well D:

ah well. it'll be a while before i remember about those treasure chests and by that time it'll be time to check xD

Thing is itll be like never getting out the special silver because you're saving it for a special occasion!
Ill not want to go and check the chests because if it isnt time, then ill have to wait another month! I won't end up going at all!

The counter resets for all of them everytime you try to open any of them.

that's why you wait until like...A LOOOOOONG time xD or mark on a calendar and space out another week for buffering xD

ok ive pretty much lost all chance of getting a gold from a treasure ever again, ive started since day one of them being released.

has anyone tested long waits to see if it goes back to normal?, i.e. 3+ months?
anet really like to keep its mechanics really secret, i'ld love to know how it works, anyway i'll just keep on abusing the chests till i get no gold.

On topic: Started to get grapes on my old main, which sucks since he's my only character that can open all the chests. Why'd they have to ruin it like that? Didn't they want us to have money without having to farm for it or something?

I just did the treasure run for the 3'rd time after waiting 6 months since the last time. Went to all the treasure points (except for Domain of Crap treasures) and got grapes out of all of them.
Went to get them in Hard Mode too but that didn't seem to change anything.

I went to HM with about 15 lockpicks, 1 gold and it's req 13 cane :\

When the treasure chest AGAIN did not open after 2 months of waiting, I rageclicked it at least 50 times.

Since that time all I get is purples and 200-300 gold.

with my sin, I have waited over 2 month and still nothing, but for my other characters, it is a hit or miss
