RA matches aren't so long that I feel the need to ragequit just because some impatient RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO did.

Do you leave RA as soon as your monk casts mending?

Ive been playing mending monk with 85hp and illusion of weakness for the fun of it. I love teaching people to rage quit ^^.

Honestly sometimes i'm just not in the mood and i'll quit, other times i'll stick around just to mess with them.

Because there's no jerks/trash talking in PvE right?

Turn off allchat, make your status offline (or ignore people who pm you), done.

Fighting a team with hexes and a healer when you're 1 down is a waste of time. If you choose to fight (i.e. waste your time) you probably don't care too much about glad points and that's cool, but you don't have to go make a thread about it.

If you RA for points you leave whenever you're in a team that you know won't be able to win 10 points. If you RA for fun/to manage without support then you won't leave. Simple as that.

OT: Staying 1/4 is just stupid; all you're really doing is griefing.

lol. Thought everyone knew TA was faster? RA's just a place to have fun killing scrubs with bad builds. <3

The other day, I enter battle and right away someone on our team leaves. It started the biggest chain reaction I ever saw lol.. Everyone on my team left except for me and everyone but the one guy on the other side left so it ends up in this 1 vs 1 scrimmage.

Me the blinder vs. SP sin lol.. poor fella. It was pretty funny.

back on topic, I usually stay for the challenge unless I'm up against 2 healers. If I'm a monk I sometimes find it easier to heal with just the 3 of us and we often win unless my team can't kill at all.

Answer to OP: No, because if your team can win a 3v4, you know you have a somewhat competant team at least.

I consider myself a "Semi RA leaver". I dont leave at the beggining of a match because Its an assinine/rude thing to do, plus you dont really know what your other teamates have or how good they are at playing it. But if my team fails and has no monk. ( note how I say AND instead of OR... anyone who thinks you need a monk to win 10 in a row probably sucks ) I leave at the end of the match, before the timer starts.

About half my glad points are earned in RA nowadays ( Used to be more in TA, but lately its been harder to get my guild to TA with me .... ) , and about 1/4th of the RA gladpoints Ive gotten were from teams that started out as 3v4.

I'm generally don't leave if there is no percieved healed as I've had enough monkless teams get glad points to know its not necessary. But you have to be able sort of get a sense of your teams potential after a match and see. If you have some anti melee stuff, some anti caster stuff and some decent damage you can easily do quite well if the players are semi-competant. Even teams with just boatloads of damage can storm to 10.

The same thing with a team of 3, you sort of size up quickly the other 2 and estimate if you can maybe steal one and pick up another. If there are 2 drops, forget it.

I never leave. Its just principle, but I always stick things out. Goes for most anything that suffers from leavers and leechers - be it RA, AB, a mission etc - I just play on through what events befall as best I can with who stays.

And yes, as Master Ketsu said, you can win short-handed. I'm always a monk, so there is always a chance. Add to that, of course, in RA you dont even need a monk to win anyway.

Quoted for emphasis.

One of the things Ive learned from Monking in RA is that 1 good damage dealer/offensive character is superior to 3 poor offensive characters.

I once went up against a team with 2 monks, 1 rit ( restoration / channeling ) and 1 ranger. The previous team ( which we owned ) was 2 warriors, 1 ele, and 1 necro. The ranger on that team gave me more trouble then the last teams offense combined. Why ?

Because warrior#1 was a was a typical healing hands/riposte w/mo scrub.
warrior#2 was a default skill scrub ( W/nothing charge as elite , sever, ect. no runes. )
ele was an earthtank ( and a bad one too. Bad build + bad player = F T L )
necro was N/E firestorm/lightning strike/ETHER PRODIGY ( WTF ?!?! )... need i say more ?

The Ranger was an R/Me running burning arrow/interrupt and had a mesmer enchantment removal instead of mending touch. while we still managed to win the 10 degen + enchant removal + interrupts was far more then everything the last PURE OFFENSE team had combined.

Morale of the story: Dont leave RA teams just because you dont have a monk, a balanced team , or are shorthanded...because you never know what the hell is going on in the demented minds of your teammates and you probably dont want to know.

( and as much as i hate to admit it, part of this is true for TA and HA as well...:P )

I would never leave a match intentionally. Its really lame and I would feel like an ass or a coward for doing it. I've fought with odds worse than 1:4 before... i.e. 1:12 in an AB.

well I'm usually already in the process of leaving my team when I get a leaver so I don't mind as I wasn't planning on staying anyhow.

Used to stay, now I usually bail. One of the reasons I tend not to stay now, is that I don't like mixing the number of wins on my team. Let's say you win the 3v4, get a replacement, and go 10. There's a good chance you'll have an asshat who'll just bail right away, not caring about the late joiner. So you're left with this poor guy who has 9 wins and is left twiddling his thumbs. I've seen this happen a few times, and I feel far worse about it than I do about leaving half a team on 0 wins.

i stay in an RA team only if there is a healing rit or monk. and only if they have a decent build (which i check by clicking on them periodically). otherwise, im out.

i dont like wasting time, and i think everyone should thank me cuz i save them time, too (both the team i left and the opposing team).

sure there are people who play "just for fun", but who gives a $41+, leave yourself, and join again. takes a couple seconds.

yeah i have no guild and few friends. i taunt enemies i defeat and diss teammates with bad builds.

btw i play a sin with high damage, enchantment removal, self-cleanup (sometimes use on allies too), and a res. all i need is healing that doesnt suck. im usually a pivotal force in our victories. im 2/3 through glad6. all about efficiency.

No..I usually stay just to see how things go.

I won more than a match in RA in 3v4 matches. But never in 2v4. As long as no one else quits im fine with 3v4 RA.

No, I don't leave. I stay, watch how all my team members leave, type /dance and go playing PvE after the enemy team clubbed me down.
