101 cart points for master of the north title?

I see on guildwiki that we can supposedly get 316 points on the master of the north title track so far, and that 101 of those points are for cartography. I'm at 315 points. I've done all the missions, quests, dungeons. I've been to every town and scraped every area (I have legendary cartographer so I know how to scrape) I still only have 315 points. Is guildwiki wrong (I mean, how can you get 101 cartography points, if it's 1 point per %?) or did I miss something? I've never used one of those map fog color things that people were talking about but this would tempt me to do it if I'm missing something.

Most people assume the extra 1 point is the leeway allowed in gaining 100%.

I personally think it's a bunch of photobucket fun, and atm it's not like there is anyway to prove it ISN'T, so... yeah

Yeah, I also only managed to get 100 points for cartography (although I'm nowhere near 315 or 316 points in the title, since I haven't done any of the dungeons except the snowman one and heart of the shiverpeaks). But even if it is true you can get that extra point, I doubt it'll matter. Once the max tier is determined, I really doubt that the leeway in the cartography title will really make any difference at all. Don't waste your time on it unless you have a specific reason.

So Anet goes to all the trouble of splitting up the older titles only to eventually put in one that is a smorgasbord of various EotN things?

Have 316 here myself so that number is possible.

I have ended up with 315, wall hugged each area. It must be leeway since the only way to max the title track further is by completing the primary quests and dungeons in hardmode.

Just another reason we should have had a seperate exploration title for GWEN!

Well there will obviously be more content before long anyway. (as 316 isnt max regardless.

The reason its combined is cos it would be too easy otherwise. If you want to talk about these titles + pride in having them + their usefullness....

...the main GWEN title is completely pointless because it doesnt really display anything to be proud of. It only shows that you have done dungeons atleast once or several times and explored really easy territory.

In theory you could replay one dungeon over and over again and max that title (from the way I understand it).

You can also argue the reputation titles are pointless, because their only of use inside GWEN. The norn and asura titles dont take effect anywhere except in their own territory, the Vanguard only works with char and the Drawf one against destroyers.

And even after that small snag, their mostly useless anyway! Its only really the drawf title which could be concidered critical, and thats only in glints challenge and maybe the odd dungeon or quest.

You have little contact with Drestroyers in GWEN for the drawf title to be of huge use! The char can be defeated easily without using the vangaurd title, the Norn extra health doesnt come in that handy, and Asuran extra energy add much (from an ele perspective).

The bottom line IMO is that none of the titles in GWEN (except maybe the Drawf one when fighting the few destroyers you meet), arent that important, critical or impressive!

If the reputation titles could be used outside of GWEN it would be a different story, but you cant!

Note: im sure alot of players will dictate that these reputation titles are vitally important and certain aspects need them, and thats their right. But IMO nothing in the game is critical upon those titles!

Anyhoo...

...so yes, none of the GWEN titles hold any real pride to them, but it wud be nice if they atleast all made sense. A seperate GWEN exploration and Dungeon completion title would have been nicer IMO.

Combing the exploration and dungeon completion just doesnt seem right to me. Id have much rather had seperate ones. Plus whats easier to read when exploring.. 301 points or 99%? 301 points means nothing because you dont know what the max is!

As an explorer, id rather have %s to read!

And a dungeon title might have been more fun to display, and maybe add an effect to it (no idea what).
