Not that the boss is really hard... but I was messing around with a smiting build today just for giggles and my party was one hit wiped from full health @ 0 death pentalty. Oddly enough, this is the first time I have been killed, much less wiped, by this skill in 30 or so runs.
Here's a pic. I ran up to her and got her to use it again so I could snag the damage and skill description.
I understand the possibilty of the double damage boss bonus, and even with 60 AL, 320 seems a bit... high. Plus, this hasn't ever happened before. Is this correct?
Murakai's fickle skill?

That was probably the skill that killed me! It was random and I'm not sure what triggers her to use it. It actually happened to me today. My H/H all died except 1 healer 1 warrior, 1 ranger, and me wacking at it and eventually the consumption killed all but me and then suddenly I had a ton of conditionins and fragility spiked me hard. Maybe it was added?
yes it is, i think the dmg is based on the bar on the top left of your screen, when the bar is full, means Murakai is charged, and u will take the full dmg of the Storm of Souls. just a thought, not 100% sure though.
BTW, is Murakai a Male or Female? name is Lady of the Night, but when she died, she had a male voice-_-(like when Olias died)

undeadgun is right about the power-up; if you interrupt her other skills, however, it won't charge, and those are -really- easy to interrupt. From my testing it seems like she only has 2 skills, and they're each on 20s recycles. I've gone against her 3-4 times now, and each time the only reliable interrupt I had was You Move Like a Dwarf, which has 10s. Could use it to interrupt each skill, it always cycled back up in time ('cept maybe once).
It's a spell, and the NPC gets the boss buff, so I don't see the damage being out of the ordinary against an AL 60 character.
Damage calculation for spells show that being 8 levels higher (than the baseline) increases damage by ~50%. This NPC is 9 levels higher (than level 20, which is the baseline for all spells) , AND has the boss buff, with a base damage of 100.

That skill seems to be dependant on how many people it hits, too. Murakai, as far as I can tell, is designed to be solo'd. That's right: after an 8-man dungeon, you are supposed to sit back while one person kills the final boss.
I didn't design the game.
Anyway, when you're mano a undeadwomano with her, she'll only hit you for about 60 with that skill.

the best way is to solo murakai and run to you group when she/he cas storm

Just finished a Hero/Hench run. Not a single death and at the end Murakai never cast a single spell.
Turns out that Gwen as a Dom Mesmer and Magrid as a CG Ranger pretty much own poor ol' Murakai.
Sadly, no chalices or relics.
P.S. Heroes and Henchmen said I didn't have to blackout their names.
P.P.S. Pyre's build is semi-shit, but it didn't matter. Magrid was uber against everything that cast (which is nearly every mob).

I brought broad head arrow on Pyre, she didn't cast ONE spell.
Remember conditions last 1/2 the normal duration on her so even with runes theres a little bit of downtime on the daze. I used "You Move Like a Dwarf!" during the downtime, helped against that servant that holds the key that runs off at the start of the 3rd level as well.

For level 28 and 29, they work out to 51.6% and 59.7% respectively.
The net damage is 200 * 2^(27/40) = 319.3. The game rounds damage figures up, so you have your 320 damage.

This spell is very predictable.
Whenever she uses her consumption spell, her power bar fills up.
It takes about 5 times to fill it completely, and when it does she will immediatly cast the storm spell.
So when her bar is about 80% full and you see her start to cast consumption, you know the storm will hit immediatly when she finishes casting consumption. In all my runs she has always done this.

Old skill.
Firstly, the damage is multiplied because the boss is higher level than you. Same as why Cynndr Mountainhearts projectile with 80 dmg in description hits ~400 dmg and partywipes H/H pretty easily sometimes.
We did the dungeon once, our friends didn't ress me because Murakai was just about to die, one of my friend said in vent: "Victory" And then they partywiped to Murakais Soul Consumption, I pretty much laughed my ass off.
But yes, nothing special in that, okay, hitting every condition in game and nicely damage is a bit much, but you have your ways to deal with it.
