~Destroyer Core Farming~

Hi. Just thought I'd give a heads up to those who have been needing Cores for either the Gloves or Quest, Glint's Challange has proven to be invaluable in the process of getting this done.

You need a basic Splinter Barrage build, mines include some Norn skills but that's only because I have 7 ranks into it. You can do without it.

Code: Basic Splinter Farm build: 8 BM 9 Expertise 7 WS(can be changed if you don't use SC or TU) 9 MARK 12 CHANNEL Barrage[E] Splinter Barrage Nightmare Weapon(Self Heal) Storm Chaser or Other Kite Skill Troll Ungent Edge of Extinction [Optional] [Optional] or Barrage[E] Splinter Barrage "I Am The Strongest!" Kite Skill Nightmare Weapon or Feel No Pain Edge of Extinction [Optional] [Optional] Basically you start from the Central Transfer chamber add a hero/hench team as its much much harder when you have them coming from both sides, but if you think you can take them both then go for it. I flagged mines up near the north point where they start coming in so they're names will be grayed out.



Then I setup a EoE(Switch to BM Mask if you have one when using.) near the baby dragon and wait for the first grp to kill the dwarf and start coming down as a pack then basically just close enough to Splinter them and they go down pretty quick as they're only LvL 10-15 at first. Then LvL 20's come with a couple of LvL 15-10 ones, but still all the same easy to kill. If you have trouble just back up a little into the Dwarfs and let them "tank" for you, and just keep firing eventually you'll get through the first west wave and can pickup your loot(shown below).



This is just to fight the first wave only, after that LvL 28 mobs start coming so pickup loot and /resign after the first wave is done.

I had been using a nuking variant for a couple of days. I got cores only at the rate of one every 15 runs. After my soul was completely crushed from mindless unrewarding repetition, I decided to go farm Hero's Handbooks and wait for core drop rate to be fixed.

nice from the looks, but find a way for other classes to do this and ill give you a pat on the back and words of encouragement :P thanks.

Well ive been killing destroyers for forever... and I havent gotten a single core, so I dont know if I even want to try... I am a splinter barrager normally though so i may have to give this a shot.

As for other professions, I'll leave that open to discussion. Once I get that far with the rest of my characters I'll try other variants and if any good post them in this same thread for others.

holy moly, gonna get some power leveling for my ranger and then hit this up.

Cores are loot scaled ... it just makes no nense to solo it or send heroes away.

I just dont get why people are still in solo mentality for farming such stuff like collector items or reputation points.

Doesn't a 55 build make heavy use of enchants? And one of my guildies said Destroyers remove enchants.

Destroyer Mesmers can remove Enchants.

From what I can tell they only remove them one at a time, but if you're dealing with hoardes of the fetchers then that'd be a moot point. I can tell I'm NOT going to have a happy time against these guys with my Assassin (tripley enchanted for maximum effectiveness).

On the other hand... Shadow Form + Sliver Armor might totally decimate their efforts.... provided the downtime isn't too long.
