MY VOTE IS ..............2

This petition is about the access to some of the benefits in GWEN and specifically crafter and collectors armour. There may also be other things. I hated factions because of the faction farming requirement before you could move on in the story. I love guild wars, have six accounts, over 40 toons and 22 level 20s. Three of the accounts have all campaigns, BUT ONLY ONE HAS GWEN. Im not afraid of working to get some benefits but that requirement in factions turned me off so much I only took two guys past that area. I would like the ability to access armour and the glossy things in GWEN on my toons but I dont want to have to REPEATEDLY grinding and kill an area again and again , and then again and again on the next profession. This is a knock at GWEN as a whole just at this specific area. I will not upgrade any other accounts while it is in this format.

IMHO they have made GWEN worse than Factions in this regard and there are several forums for and against the grinding they build in to benefits in GWEN.

I would like you to register your view, place a vote on these requirements. My intention here is not aimed at the person who takes one toon through , does all the work and gets everything, its aimed at preventing having to do it on all the others or making it simpler on your account as a reward for the first guy having done it.

I think it can be improved by:

Scaling requirements, first toon 100 Glacial stones, second 50 , third 25 , rest 10 or something similar.
First toon this much reputation, second this , third that, OR
Increase rewards per toon on account completing quests (eg> First toon 1000 points, second 2000 , third 3000 etc) or something similar. (heck I have 16 on one account, can you imagine doing this over and over again 16 times just to have access to armour if I wanted it.

Reasons:
More players would take more professions through to give let them have ability to access certain rewards.
More professions going through again , means more players in towns, = more interest and opportunities to group,
More players taking multiple professions through = increased knowledge of quests = improved groups.
More incentive for players to take other professions through.

Warnings
Any system implemented should in some way prevent profiteering and the scaling simply be designed as an incentive to go through again on another character. (not to get something for less to sell for more to those on first time through - in other words it should only benefit them.

Implementation
(on the surface) Cant be that hard, programming relating to toon on the account, allows other toons on account to do certain things

The Vote:
1. I would like to see something changed for both reputation and collector rewards even for the first toon.
2. I would like to see something changed for both reputation and collector rewards for those AFTER my first toon
3. I dont think there should be anything changed

I vote 4. Grind away if you want the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for each toon.

If you want an armor, you work for it, if you don't want to work for that armor, you can't have it. Seems fair to me.

I also vote 4, while I do have a lot of issues with eotn and I think it was a very poor 'expansion' this isn't one of them.

I would vote 1. it would be nice if they made it like r2 r3 and r4 instead of r3 r4 and r5. r4 is very reachable for a casual player doing all the quests and getting hunting party rewards as the story goes on but r5 takes more grinding IMO

Same reason I stopped playing factions after grinding two through the requirement to get faction to move on.

For me I DO NOT AND WILL NOT grind all my guys through but I would like to play some through and some would look good in some armour etc etc, and would like that opportunity .
then just play the ones you want through the game without getting them the elite armor and that problem is solved.

only grind the few you want the new elite armor on and your problem is solved.

NO CHANGE NEEDED SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU CHOSE TO MAKE 20 CHARACTERS

I just let my henches/heroes do all the grind and boring work for me. Fair? Seems pretty stupid if you ask me. People really need to stop with that "work for your armor" argument cause there's absolutely no work or effort involved when you're grinding for it.

If you really want it that bad you'll do the whole grind thing.
It's ridiculous to expect Anet to change something like that because people are lazy.

It's a game. If you enjoy the game and want to play it, then do so. Plus you never know what you might farm while grinding

Hey you bored yourself by doing c+space, you could've made a party with friends or guildies and gone hunting or questing, but you chose the boring way.

It's fair, you put in the same time as anybody else, except you were just boring yourself to death in the same time, that's your problem, that's whats stupid.

No one's forcing you to buy the armor.

Most of the armor is not good looking, save a few sets, but if you really want the armor, then get off your dead ass and go farm the points.

Why does everyone that whines think they should be given everything to them on a silver platter? I bet if they gave you the armor right there and then, people would still whine.

Besides, this gives you a chance to explore the game a little, and see what secrets EOTN holds.

Other : Stop being lazy Quoted for truth. This armor is not required. Anet gave you the stakes to get them, either go do what is required to get and them enjoy them, or do something else. Quit expecting shit to be handed to you on a silver platter with "omg, i'm so sorry we made the game too hard for you."

If you don't like it, /ragequit. You already paid $40 for it. Ragequitting is the obvious answer when you can't get someone to play the game for you.

5. Simply make it ACCOUNT-based like Factions.

In Factions, 10k Kurzick/Luxon Faction is all you need, and it is good for everyone in the account.
- You can do it once on one character, and all others can get a direct pass, or
- You can spread it out to 8 characters (1 per each profession), and each only need to contribute their share of 1.25 k each.

It's only Nightfall which introduced this dreadfully boring per-character-based bounty grinds and Gwen just make this bad system even worse.

Yeah, I figured that out and if it stays this way that sexactly what i will do , watch tv, set the henchies, let them kill them and do it again.

Nice to see responses already , obviously some are missing the point though, but then they are entitled to their opinions

The first part of my post was to indicate that I am not lazy. Hate to say the hours played but it equates to a lot, over the last two years.

This is not about laziness its about unneeded repetition.

It took a lot to build what I have and have reasons for doing it and there is nothing about laziness in doing so , other than only fact I got so many is Im too lazy to change the complete build for other areas, armour, runes, etc etc, and prefer to make another two or three guys so I can switch faster

(nothing lazy in ascending and working the other guys through )

Wouldn't he need to be on his ass, in front of his computer to get the armor instead of getting off of it?

I have no problem with the armor in GWEN. I just wish there was like a full set of chaos wear, destoyer armor etc

people really need to do a bit of research before making petitions here. Just because you don't like something, it doesnt automatically mean no one else does either.
Do your research next time, as you just end up looking stupid, like now.
