Armor ignore skills seem to work. Brings interrupts, degens and ignore armor stuff. Then you can forget about the shell.
Or go massive prot and interrupts, and keg him.
I had decent luck got him to like 50 percent health with an unprepared interrupt AoE team. Then said f it and figure I would do it tomorrow more prepared.

No matter how much I agree with Omniclasm, I've never beaten this either. It's because I tried to hench it. The easiest way, in my opinion, would be to have assigned barrel grabbers that grab 3 kegs before battle and then once the wurm comes out...boom! That's all I can think of, but I'll be getting together a group eventually.

One tip to you guys. Get the wurm by anyhow to spawn next to the kegman, just go on again and again and again and again. When the wurm spawns to the keg guy, just go to keg guy and drop the kegs like crazy, they will damage it alot, i mean tons of damage + your henchmen can nuke behind the wall.

As Engel said, check around, there's a thread with more detailed info. That aside, it's -not- just you; this boss is a bastard unless you've got a spectacular hero/hench team and micromanage them well. His Pyroclastic Shot does massive damage to a large area and will kill you if you're carrying a power keg. His Flame Burst will kill a character with death penalty in a single hit. The people who say it's easy have had 3 monks with them, for the most part. I only had two and I just barely managed to kill him on my second try when I -prepared- for him.
Spoil Victor lets you damage him without breaking his shell; I recommend bombing him twice, then taking him down to half health or lower with Spoil Victor and other direct-damage skills. Then blow off the last barrel to crack him wide open and wail on him; he takes damage quickly once his shell is off. If you have him down to 1/2 health before blowing him up you should be able to kill him for sure.

Hope it helps, kegspam FTW! =) I thought it didn't move from the center but it did, a few times, and then, one of the times it spawned next to the keg dwarf. And you are right, kegspam FTW!
