This is a HoM thread, but not like the others. I'm not complaining about anything and think that Gaile's suggestion for a Festival Hat-like NPC for minipets would be awesome. This is about a concept that's come up again and again: the direct lineage of your GW2 characters.

To gain anything from the HoM in GW2 you will probably link the character you create to a character from GW1 which is a very neat idea and I fully support I've just been thinking... if I create a Charr, Sylvari or Asuran character, how exactly does that work? I mean, genetically? Is there some magic that allows different races to breed? Why haven't we seen half-breeds before and will that bring some half-blood/pure-blood tension (to borrow from J.K. Rowling's vocabulary).

I'm seriously interested, because I believe Pyre or Vekk would just *love* to know about their chances with the pretty human eles and mesmers

Vekk's voice and superiority complex would definately win over my Ele :P

This is an interesting question though, especially since I'm planning on playing an Asura.

Direct lineage makes no sense. I prefer to think your Charr/Asura/Sylvari/Magicalgoose character descends from an NPC who supposedly helped the original human GW char back in the GWEN days, and thus receives inheritance from that hero; could be a descendant of Vekk, or Pyre, for example.

I did. I think the thread you're referring to is about items and inheritance in general, not the genetic and social implications of the "direct lineage" that Gaile has mentioned several times.

I want to talk about sex, baby

Was thinking about this myself.

Does my character, or her children "interact" with an Sylvari and get an Sylvari offspring, or was there a lot of "adoptions".

Could be that there no "mixed breeds" two different races offspring alwasy = one of the parents race.

Maybe like...there's a battle or something that the Humans are involved in, and a great brave Charr comes in and was like "SUP GUYZ" and saves them all, and the humans are like "nice, we will honor your bravery by like, giving you this hall".

Come on, roleplay a little, that's what this game is for!

Depending on the duration between the two games, you may need to talk about it in the context of grandparents (maybe with a few great- thrown in). Are you sure you want to go there?
