Elemental Norn 10k Armor - Looksee!!

After two days of endlessly farming my way to Norn rank 7, going to the Armor crafter in the GWEN preview event at 1 o'clock in the morning, you cant help but feel a bit shafted after all that effort...



...I worked my ass off to get to rank 7 expecting some super armor. Something completely original and different to other ingame ele armor. Something to finally make you feel proud to be an elemental and we get that!

Ok so its not awfull and it looks kinda nice, and it will turn some eyes, but its not what you'd expect! It really does just look like a woolier, thicker version of Tyrian non-elite armor.

I realise other elite Norn armor will exist, but some originality Anet before we get to elite armor (Especially when you have to work for it through title ranks!)?

Vabbian armor was going in the right direction, so why take about 10 steps back! Am I the only person who thinks elementals get a bad deal with armor.

Anyhoo, I have it now and I thought i'd share what it looks like with you all.

(Sorry im a bit irrittable because its 1 in the morning and I was getting sick of arming Norn points in Drakker Lake for 2 days straight)

You can see which bits are dye-able and it actually looks alot better.

uuuummmm why did you have high hopes for male ele?

It looks nice, perhaps Umbral Grotto will be a mirror of Marhans and have a nicer armor set.

Dude, you've got to remember that's the FIRST armor available.

Not too shabby, has a pretty clean texture.

Yeah there are more elite versions of each of these types of armor as we've seen in the preview that showed all the different armors.. so I'm not going to waste my money on these ones yet till i see all my opitions.

(I like the look of that armor though.. beats most of the armor in NF in my opinion.)

The Female Monk one is teh secks.

But yeah. Male Elementalist one sucks.

Also, don't complain about the "grind" needed to get this armor. After all, you DID get it in ONE weekend (even if you did work your butt off for it). Once GW:EN goes live for a few weeks, rank 7 of the Norn title will be pathetic.

Hey! It's better than what I expected (which isn't much, considering how awful male elementalist armor is). It looks sort of mesmer-ish. It probably dyes really nicely. My primary character is a male Factions elementalist, and I've always been irritated by how crappy the armor is-- even the 15k. My favorite combo is a black/silver dyed Canthan/Shing Jea mix.

I like that a lot.

It's really nice and clean, unlike so many other armors that are cluttered with way too much pointless trinkets and junk on it.

can you post the headgear, if there is any? also, what photobucket?

I like the new Norn armor on the male ele better than the female ele - no, it's not particularly new and exciting, but it's not effete like so much male ele armor is, and it's more elegant than the Prophecies male ele armor that has that flame design. So I guess I'd say that for the male, it's an improvement on the existing models and that's not an inconsiderable advantage.

The headgear is just face paint. Solid colour. Either half painted vertically or horizontally. You choose.
