Hi yall, Well most of us have more then one toon, and I assume that some of us here on the fourms might be lucky enough to own a rare mini-pet. Like A Mini Zhed, or Greased lightning or Panda..

Now how do you feel about FOREVER marking that mini pet as one of your toons and not being able to use it on other toons? I dunno about you, but the rare mini pet I have.. I worked very very hard to obtain.. and now if I wanna put it on display I cant move it around to my other toons to use it whenever I want.

Cause its going to be cuztomized for that toon... ...

Grr..

I wholeheartedly agree that minis added to HoM should be customized to prevent every player from filling their hall and negating all achievement.. but customization should definitely onehundredpercentwithoutadoubt be TIED TO THE ACCOUNT and NOT TO THE CHARACTER.

I'd imagine this not being a major issue to change (correct me if I'm wrong).

Ok, I'll say that if it HAS to be custmized.. which I perfer it didn't.. I'm okay with it being customized for the account.. but to customize my panda or Zhed for ONE of my chars?

That's bullcrap.

There's no reason why the hall can't act as a storage for minis. Put a mini in, and it gets displayed. Pull a mini out, and it's removed. No need for customization period.

This really kicks mini collectors square in the nether regions. Not only do you have to customize the mini, but you still have to afford the storage on your account for them.

Can't you just wait with customizing it untill the lunch of GW2? You will be able to use it untill that time on all chars, then when you will switch to GW2 customize it.

Yes to the post above. It should be customized if you add it to your HoM... still you don't have to do that right now or anytime soon. And when you do.. you're going to want all your minipets in one HoM anyway I would think.. instead of spread on on varies ones. I don't collect minipets but if I did (or anything that would go in the HoM) I rather have one pimped out with everything then a bunch of so-so HoM.

I already said this in the HoM thread, but I'll post it here.

The minipets shouldn't be customized in GW1, but they should be made so that others cannot claim them as their own in GW2. This will ensure that the rarity of the mini will still exist, but the ability to sell/buy minis will not vanish completely off the face of GW1.
  • Give Minipet to NPC
  • NPC immortalizes minipet into the HoM
  • Minipet shows a STAR (or something) next to it's name, showing it has been immortalized.
  • Minipet can be sold AND used by others, but cannot be immortalized again.

I believe this would accomplish the goal that ANet is currently trying to make, while making the community happy. But I may be wrong.

You could make it so it's immortalized as long as it stays on your account. Were it to be traded/sold/destroyed (?!!?!?!) then you lose it's immortalization.

I would personally prefer that if the minipets must be customized, that they be account based and not character based. I have several characters I switch between, all of whom I would like to be able to use my minipets depending on the situation (holidays or whatever). I also keep them as an investment. If I fall on really hard times, they're my easy 10k+. That being said, even if they were customized to the account, I would probably not use this feature until I was pretty darn sure I was going to completely switch over to GW2.

The whole Hall of Monuments is like that. They totally need to rework this steaming pile, agreed.

I agree that they should be customized to account.

Whichever character puts them into HoM should get credit for the achievement though.

Of course, HoM display should be account based also - while keeping note of which character earned which achievement.

My opinion: Anet royally screwed the Hall of Monuments up, and they ruined the entire mini pet section. I can understand not wanting people to trade minis to stick in their HoM, but customization was stupid.

How on earth can they try to maintain rarity of mini pets when they add items to GW:EN that completely destroy rarity? >.> GG Anet.

Customized Minipets = NEVERRRRR

For minipets collectors, then yes they will probably one day put it in their HoM but it concerns rarity and the in game economy.

Right now, a Siege Turtle costs around 10k right now (correct me if i'm wrong). To minipets collectors, this would be a great deal for a common minipet. But in the future after everyone finally decides to customize their minipets and cant sell them. For the collectors that dont hav the Siege Turtle they will probably want to find and buy them from people that sells minis. What used to be 10k could be alot more when they demand for them increases due to the lack of them. Just think what it would mean for something like purples like Kirins or Palawa Jokos even rarer golds like Water Djinns or Shiros and even more rare greens, Bone Dragons and Gwens. Those prices will one day skyrocket so i hope ANet truly reconsiders this decision.

Actually. I don't prefer customization to the account, I like what Felix is suggesting. But then again, a immortalized minipet is cheaper then a not immortalized mini when trading.

As someone said, i also think the best idea it's to simply make it act like a minipet storage, you can put them in and out at any time. It will show your minipets, they will be available to do whatever you want to them when you take them out.
