I thought one got a distinct set of fighting skills, so that any profession would be equally competitive. Ya.. If that's how its gonna work it looks like some classes are gonna have a HUGE advantage over others.

I thought one got a distinct set of fighting skills, so that any profession would be equally competitive. It's not pvp. By the looks of it, it will be fairly simple considering you know what your opponent is going to be after the first try. I strongly doubt you have to use all primary skills when going in, so it should be simple getting counters for whatever your opponent is running, regardless of your class.

That's also just one of many minigames we haven't seen yet. They've specifically mentioned that there is a fist-fighting arena where all your skills get replaced junundu style.

Do you really think that Scooby Doo is a reliable source of facts? Seriously, they've got a semi-talking dog who hangs out with a stoner who gets "high" on "Scooby Snacks".

I hope we can add weapons we've had before EotN to the hall, in the demo it said only weapons obtained in EotN. Oh well I'm not planning on getting GW2 so I guess it doesn't matter. And all we get is a head start with unlocking some things, after about a couple months it'll just be like it is now, people showing off how much time they've wasted in a game and bragging to others.

^ye too bad some of those showed are reskins, but there's going to be more than 1 set for each class so here's hoping!

From the low-res Derv armor that they showed b4 and the now hi-res on this vid, Im tempted to get my derv to lvl 20 now...
/Samurai Stylez + All I need is a Kendo sword = uber looking set!!! lol

-Just too /lazy atm.

One more thing: About the Norn tournament that gets you reputation, which then gets you access to unique armor set(s)...hope their better than Factions design/stats...

They probably did that because GW:EN is after the unlock system starts recording skins. We all know what outrage would occur if existing skins were also counted and they only counted when you find them off the floor (it will probably use the same system as those Golden eggs).

Note this is pure speculation by me, but I would tend to think that they will try to use existing code as much as possible.

And I also hope there's a new parallelogon hero. Hopefully one that isn't blind, as everyone they gave a spear in Nightfall apparently put their eyes out.

But even if it's not perfectly fair, all this means is some characters will just have to build up reputation with other factions. I'm guessing that the skills/items you get through that tournament are most appealing to warriors anyway.

Two things I noticed...

1. NPC's have voices now. YAY!

2. Those giant magma fireballs in the boss fight aren't impressing enough, when they kill you, they just roll over you. How about some fire spewing?, or your corpse burning after you're engulfed by the flaming ball of doom. Com'n Anet you can do better.

looks like 1v1 arena will be dominated by necros, mesmers, and 55's
unless enchantment removal

Obsidian Armour does nothing unique. Tormented Weapons do nothing unique. This is why I disagree with you,
A) Obsidian armor comes in sets; the 4 known gloves and 2 known masks do not. Why not a full suit? I would suspect that there may be more masks and armor items then we have seen. Publicly ANET has only shown 2 masks so far and one set of Gloves, (we all know there are more gloves than one due to an unpopular hax).
B) Tormented items although hard to get are sill just weapons, staffs or offhand items no different than any other weapons staff or offhand. They have no relation to armor in any way. Plus I never said anything about weapons.
C) Why not just make a full suit of armor that is the same skin for every class in the game? Why just gloves and a headpiece? Does that not seem a bit odd to you? It does me seem odd to me.
D) If ANET is going the way of PvE only skills why not PvE armor pieces as well?

Its something to think about and consider at least.

Only problem is that Inuit don't make totem poles. You're thinking Pacific Coast. You are correct and I meant no offense to any Inuit. I get them confused with the Haida from time to time. I blame my government funded propaganda type education for my Indigenous First Nations ignorance. They tend to group everyone native to the pacific northwest as Eskimos, even though this is untrue. I have the same problem with the Chumash vs. other south west Indigenous First Nations people groups.

So, it sounds like you get the special equipment by playing the Mini games.

4:31 - 4:41

"unlock powerful consumable items, increase the effectiveness of the PvE-only skills they've taught you, and even give you access to unique armor sets."

EDIT: Oh, and Jora is "teh hot."

They should release a title for maxing grinder titles like these new rep ones and SS/LB.

"Kind of a big grinder" -> "Grinding knows me" -> "Grinding's very important."

Really anybody should be able to do these 1v1 arenas if built correctly. Warriors can bring Holy Veil and Mending Touch, while using the Ripostes, Disarm, and some interrupt skills.
