Okay, I think most of you know about it. The [email protected] account is a rank 9 account which many people know the password to.
Now the account has been perm. banned. Which I think is a shame, over 2500 hours has been used on that account - it's a bloddy tiger emote.
IMO A-net should force a new password to the acount and give it to the owner. It's such a shame that the account got banned, and at the same time it's a shame that half the GW players knows the info for it.

Do me a favor, if you know about this account tell me what YOU think about the whole case.

How did people find out the password to it? Was he one of them guys "selling" his account with an unchangeable password?

I've never heard about that, but once the password gets about eventually someone is going to do something stupid with it. I don't think account sharing is a bad thing necessarily, and this kind of community "project" (or whatever it was) can be cool but all it takes is one dumbarse to ruin it...

I think that was just some scammer, one of m8s saw the the account name + pw beening spammed in HA id 1, and he told me. I tried it and it worked, few days later(today) the account was banned. What a waste...

passing around your password is against the rules...they got slapped...they deserve it.

imo the only times passing passwords around is ok is when it's between family members.

yea, probs some idiot who runied it, I myself only have a wolf. But I can imagne how many people who tried to log in on it to get a "free" tiger emote.
I hope Gaile will see this, because I just think it is such a shame that the account got banned...

And still 4,6k fame out the widow, I would like to know how many of the a-net people who actually have that amount of fame...

I meant immediate family members...people who live with you...people who probably paid for the account.

LOL Rank9 actually means nothing. Tons of people who are bad at this game have tiger emotes. Who really cares that it was banned? Not like you paid for it. Heck maybe the original owner got pissed that everyone was using it and decided to kill the account. I know people who've sold their accounts on ebay get the money, then report the account as stolen/hacked just to be asshats. Then the sucker who bought it gets banned and is out of luck.

Because if you give it a family member ANET is less likely to notice it. And you aren't likely to be profiting off giving an account to a friend/family member.
They broke the rules, by sharing the account, to get that level of fame.

Though when checking through the [url=http://www.guildwars.com/support/legal/legal section on guildwars.com[/url], I can only find ANET stating that transferring the account for cash or in game items is forbidden. Though I will agree that fame is an in-game item, and from what I've read here that they were sharing the account with the purpose of gaining it faster than they could separately.

Since the fame wasn't earned by one person, I'd think that your also falsely advertising your worth in HA if you make use of the title/emote.

So how many people were sharing this account ?

It's been stated many times already in this thread but I'll restate it. They broke the rules and by doing so they got what they deserved.

What it sounds like to me is, The owner got tired of gw and spammed his/her Pw+Email into main chat and let the account go, then uninstalled. Or someone hacked the account and did the same, Worse things happen.

To me it sounds like an extra account that was shared among some poeple, maybe a guild, and eventually the circle of people in the know got too big and someone dubious got the pass and used it in a stupid way.

Happened once with an account on an art sharing site I was on, it was public access and for a couple weeks it was pretty interesting. Then some idiot logged in and let forth a spew of profanity on some pages and it was banned.

The account should be banned, burnt in the flames of a holy fire, and anyone ever having accessed the account should also be banned untill the end of time. Yes that means including you!

it wasnt even your account. logging into someone elses account to show off a tiger emote is just, well, sadness, not to mention that tiger emotes are pretty meaningless. tons of morons have tiger emotes.
