A Tainted Gwen? o_O

My wife was playing on her account and walks into the room and proceeds to ask me "What is a tainted Gwen?" to which i reply....wtf??

She says "well someone told me i had a tainted Gwen or somethin like that."

I haven't played in a few weeks so i may be a lil out of the loop on some of the lingo. does anyone have any idea what this may be or is it just someone trying to invent their own GW vocabulary?

Probably reffering to her mini pet as the evil gwen is? Otherwise i haven't heard of anything like that

Its to do with the Gwen you meet in pre-searing. It doesn't really matter unless you wanted her Tapestry Shred. Basically it means that you joined parties with someone (prob for the res sig quest) who already gave Gwen the Flute/Cape/Flowers and the game glitches into thinking you have also so you can't get it.

Its annoying... i put several hours into a char to get the Tapestry Shred for an alliance event when i found out it was glitched and i couldn't get it so i had to restart

Usually it refers to, while in Pre-Searing, whether you've partied with someone who has already does Gwen's broken flute quest and/or bought her a new flute and the small girl's cape.

If you have, you can't complete the quest or give her those items yourself. The game considered the tasks completed for both party members, even if one has not done it already. It also prevents you from obtaining her Tapestry Shred, an item speculated to have a use in Eye of the North (along with Tattered Capes and Preserved Red Iris Flowers).

speaking of which(tattered capes) it seems the game dont drop these anymore just the broken flute in post u get preserved red iris flower in NightFall ...

if im wrong plz correct me an point me in the right direction ...if im not wrong an anyone has a tattered girls cape they feel like selling or giving away plz 'by all means' whisper me or leave me a message here in guru i really want one ...

i think you're right. they used to be outside of fisherman's haven or something but stopped spawning way before i took interest in them.

I think you are correct about the tattered capes but, the preserved red iris flower is found in Night Fall. They drop from a chest in Barbarous Shore.

I think they first moved the tattered cape, then got rid of it altogether.

Personally I just hope Gwen is dead and stays burried for eternity for some reason she anoys me as much as paris hilton.

Then il place my hopes on being able to kill her or her dying in a inscrutiating pain and offcourse not getting any boons like kormir, the endgame green will be traded for her "precious tapestry shred" wich will be burned by some psycho that got a good drop.

LOL. If she's a Hero (as many suspect), you can kill her as many times as you'd like.

I will say I was a little bummed that the expansion will probably involve her. I never really cared for her, but that's just me. Other people are insanely excited about it, though.

Her healing helped out quite a bit when I first played.

I'm with you there, dude. I never really liked her, either; I kind of liked the myth of not knowing what happened to her.

Alternately, she looks almost hot in the picture I saw of her grown up, so what the heck, if I can have a hot chick following me around? I will do much for teh hotness. Even if it's.... ergh... Gwen.
