Playing a weekend of Vimway with some friends during one of their double fame weekend events.

It was lame, I admit, but some of the most ez mode wins against top-rated players I have ever seen. We laughed until we cried and had the best time doing it.

My question is, if the build was so lame, why didn't these alleged 'elite' players know how to beat it... *boggle*

I used to run a guild in ages past.

One time I had joined an alliance and the leader had a contest where it would be leader vs. leader for alliance control. (ie. Defeat alliance leader to become alliance leader.) Now, the alliance leader, let's call him Kirk, was rather big-headed and had the tendancy to talk down to people. He told me how stupid I was since my guild didn't have a full hall and that i wasn't 'leet' enough since i didn't have 15k armor and challenged me to 1v1.

We both loaded up and lo and behold. He chose 55 Monk. I was a touch ranger.
*poke* "Eeyaaahguhh" *thump*

The resulting victory forced him to go into a tourettes-rivaling cursing fit and kick my guild from the alliance. I giggled.

He was probably 12, acne ridden and had only seen boobies in American Pie. You took away his whole world.

Holding a running match with an opposing Sin in AB. I won, albeit only just. He had a slightly longer Siphon Speed than me, but I had Dash to back it up.

Running around a rock on saltspray beach about 15 times with 3 warriors and an elementalist chasing me.
They just kept chasing and chasing, theyd set me on fire, id mend touch, theyd get close and id spin around and pin them down then nat stride away.

Not once did they change direction and just cut me off. I laughed for about 10 mins, i essentially kept a whole team occupied with my idiocy.

Were we all this new at one point?

Upon finding out Mending no longer stacks, my guild decided to do Searing Flames spike with all ranger spirits and water magic. This is why we haven't won halls as a guild since 2005...

I'm not sure what my friend was asking for in local chat, but he certainly found it!

In RA when I was trying out a new Ritualist Restoration Build (which will not be released to the public) when you place two certain spirits at a certain place in the battle. I just sit back and watch as the healing is "over 9000" on myself whilst I heal my other team mates while a sin tries to take me down (unsuccessfully).

I was accused of hacking more then once.

Hilarious stuff like that might be the only reason to join a PUG. Players just don't read chat (or skill descripts) carefully at all.

The sad thing is they claim instead of prove.

My funniest moment was when i was on Skype with guildies, and there was this Mending warrior - with a hammer, frenzy, no cancel stance/deepwound/kd's...until one of my 2 guildies on skype said "IT'S A HAMMO!!!"

We stood there like 45 minutes, me chatting on msn, doing other stuff, waiting for him to leave.

He dealt 1 damage all the time. I calculated how long it would take for him to kill me. It would take him about 6 minutes. I went afk, and when I came back, I had like 20 health left. I waited till I had 3 hp left, and then started healing myself up like crazy. He got SO ultimately pissed because he had nearly killed me. Ohhhhh that was just godly.
OH My... !
You can NOT know how much i envy you for getting that kind of people. I somehow can't meet any really funny noobs. Or when I meet them I don't have a way to piss them off. The dream humiliation.

To really apriciate it understand I am probably the guy with the owrst luck concerning drops.
Anyway, my favorite moment hapened not long ago. I was traveling from droks to rankor to cap Mist form, (normal elementalist activity), first interesting event :
I see a house with a collector and a merchant, put auto run and BANG! I stuble upon Maw, the mountain heart! That sympathetic giant greenish wurm. Wake up, almost get killed, kill it, take some screenies (when you're not used to GWEN wurm he is HUGE).
Continue and arrive near Rankor, there is alway 2-3 big groups or griffon and tengu there, personally i alway die at least once. Kill one of the group and decide to go afk for a certain reason I can't remember (do you need a reason to go afk with Henches?). During that time 1 of the patrol is agroed and I come back to see them dead and a nice max gold Fiery Dragon Sword 15% when above 50% on the ground. Started laughing for 5 min on ts.

Couldn't have been 15^50 unless you Id'd it first though. o_o

I was on my sin, noobing it up today. And I was helping a friend cap a skill, so I decided to run off from the group and look around, then comes this gigantic mob running at me and a surprise spawn came up with the boss (VwK Boss, in Rhea's Crater or whatever) and I came running back screaming, about to get pwned. I love small fun like that, It's how I most enjoy the game.

Funniest thing for me was someone accidentally aggroing the huge T-Rex boss in GWEN - Mobrin, Lord of the Marsh - and having it wipe out 7/8 of the party in three massive swipes.

Last one left alive is the Monk, who's cowering knock-kneed behind some rocks, boasting that Mr Dino hasn't killed him yet.

He resurrects me.

I, wammo, promptly aggro said Boss and herd it towards the Monk.

Never heard my guildies cackle so much on Teamspeak. ^^ :P

We're 6 people and 2 heroes working our way in the Thommis part of Slavers. Approaching Thommis and his huge mob, we kinda plan the pulling on Vent, which goes wrong. We kill some of them, then wipe. We're res'ed right beside, then plan the pulling again.

We're discussing the pull on Vent, wondering if this WHOLE mob is linked, when we notice something on our radar. A green dot within red dots.
Highlight Zhed Shadowhoof. Yeah, that's him.

He's hard-casting MS on Thommis. The mob then kills him off.

There's a "OMFG WTF" moment on Vent, and then everyone burst in laughter. For 5-10 minutes, all you could hear in our channel was 2 girls and 4 guys laughing their butts off.

We beat the thing anyways, but wow, that was hilarious.

Ah the early days of GW... good memories when everything was new and refreshing, and people played nice in PvP and PvE.

Everyone was a noob then
It was great.
We weren't noobs then, we were newbies - i see a distinct difference in the term - a noob is a player that should know what he or she is doing and doesn't through ignorance or arrogance and a newbie is a player new to something hehe, but i agree.

A funny moment from me? Playing "hunt the presearing items" with my guild outside of marketplace (officers hid a load of beautiful feathers / pearls etc, members had to race to pick up as many as possible) and the leader manage to drop most of hers in a mob of mantids.... NO one managed to get them out alive XD!
