A/R 4 second spike build

OK! this build i made up takes usually 4 seconds to take down a target w/o buffs

dagger mastery 12+1+3
critical strikes 6+1
deadly arts (cant remember but rest of points go on here)

Heres the build

A/R
Black Spider Strike
Horns of the ox
Black Lotus Strike
Blades of Steel
Impale
Expose Defences
Assassin's Promise
Lightning Reflexes

First use Both hexes then charge up use lightning reflexes (for speed and 75% block) and use the attack skills in order and theres almost 100% death rate for your target

I also use this build in PvE but i use Death Blossom instead of horns of the ox

Tell me how you like it

You changed one skill, I believe.
Also I notice you're not carrying any kind of res: Thats the kinda stuff that makes people abhor assassins.

OH! never saw that...i came up with this off the top of my head...and i use this mainly for PvE so i dont need res since im mostly doing 4 man HM with heros

I would pump critical strikes to 8...6 critical strikes gives one energy on criticals.

Lightning Reflexes Why wouldn't you swap Twisting Fangs for HotO to add a deep wound, bleed, and increase the chance of killing your target, and allow you to drop impale for a res sig?

If this is a spike build then so is a warrior with 8 attacks skill on his bar. Most spikes *are* "hitting a whole bunch of buttons in succession." This assassin *alone* is not really a spike, it just possesses a high-damage attack chain. I personally don't consider the build a spike, but it could be used as such if needed.

[skill]flurry[/skill] or [skill]tiger stance[/skill] is way better than [skill]Lightning Reflexes[/skill] on a assassin

Please stop failing. 4 seconds is not a spike. Old-school RSpike in 1/4 second was.

I never said its a good build. "A spiker is a player who inflicts massive amounts of damage to a single target in a short period of time"

sadly, 4 seconds isn't exactly a short period ot time, and thus, can in no way be a spike. it could be a PART of one, but that's not what the OP posted..

The other one refers to something like [skill]Devastating Hammer[/skill][skill]Fierce Blow[/skill][skill]Crushing Blow[/skill][skill]Protector's Strike[/skill]. It's spread over a longer duration - by necessity, it's simply impossible for a single player to spike from full health a player with the damage compression that an entire team can manage. Hence the term spike as used in a team context is worthless in this context. Hence it has here a different, equally valid, meaning.

I haven't played the OP build but stuff like that owns pve.

That's not a spike, that's just hitting something repeatedly in a short period of time.

By definition, a spike has to come as part as a team, because for a spike to succeed, it actually needs to kill shit, and if a character can instagib a 100% character down to 0 in a short period of time, then that's imbalanced.

The OP's build could be used *in* a spike, but no, it is not a "spike" if we are defining "spike" by how one is conventionally done in HA/GvG. Impale on it's own makes a rather good prequel to a spike (BLS, HotO, Impale/teamspike) because of the mileage that you get out of the Deep Wound condition.
