Anyone and everyone can post their opinions here: What do you think the best secondary profession to an Assassin is? No need to explain why, just post what you think and perhaps I shall pick that for my secondary.

Sincerely,
Serenity

So let's have 9 people posting 9 different professions people!

Scorpion Serenity, the entire thing about asking what profession to pick, is explaining why. I can say monk. But it's not.

Depends on the build, location, purpose and metagame, really.

there is no best. there might be a best for a certain area or with a certain build. but if you want a no-maintenance choice that will work alright in most areas with most builds then try monk for mending touch and rebirth.

I find Warrior can be handy-coupled with an assassin's dual strikes, the warrior elite Skull Crack's 10 adrenaline cost is pretty insignificant.

Monk might be handy for Vigerous Spirit, but a monk with a brain brings that.

I was just asking opinions. People have their opinions on what profession [they think] is best. I mean, if you want to leave a reply saying "It depends, don't ask for people's opinions" then go ahead, I can't stop you. But just having an honest little survey never hurt anyone. Please don't make this a rough start as a member here...

O and for example for monking u can either choose necro or mesmer for pve and dervish for farming as for warrior mesmer and monk for farming and necro and elementalist for pve and for ranger you can choose mesmer and monk for farming and elementalist for pve and pvp and for elementalist dervish for farming and pvp and mesmer and monk for pve and for necro u can choose mesmer for pvp and pve and monk if u want to have fun with Minions and for mesmer u can choose ele if u hate those slow cast time spells in pve and necro for pvp u can also choose monk if u prefer quick healing or farming in UW and for assassin A/W for boa and watch urself in pvp and pve and monk if u want a better self heal like vigo spirit and for rit choose ranger to quick up the recharge of ur spirits with serpents quickness and then we have dervish u might choose monk if u have quite some points in mysticem and choose necro if u want to transfer those nasty conditions and last but not least the paragon the one and only good second for that is warrior for watch urself and the ToF tank ftw.

Have Fun and GL

That will be your sec profession.

You should trial and error all possible classes for secondary and you will surely win the best secondary class that suit you. Like most of the people said here, different people have different views on this. It would be better for you to explore the secondary class yourself.

My opinion is any/all/none. A true Assassin needs no other profession to aid it.

If I had to choose (gun is being pointed at my head), then Warrior.

For sheer variety of what a secondary can offer, warrior. IAS, defense, stance breakers, adrenaline output and more.

Well, when you're starting a PvE character I don't think it matters much, as most of the time you're using only assassin skills. For farming, Elementalist seems to be the most popular althought its not the only secondary used for that.

PvP-wise though, the wide variety of builds make it impossible to tell which secondary is superior for us sins, IMO.

I use an A/E and I have to say I love it. the Elementalist skills add a bit of diversity to the Assassin job. I don't know how other A/ feel about it but I realy like the feel you get access to some very usefull skills for PvE
