Jade sword where is the best place to farm them?

Hi 1st id just like to say sorry if there is a post about this already i did search and came up with nothing.

Wiki says they drop from :

* Naga Warriors
* Outcasts
* Leviathan Mouth
* Kappas

in the jade sea.

so far ive soloed the kappas outside gayla hatchery in hm but i havent even had a gold let alone a jade sword is there somewhere better to go? also wiki says they only drop in the jade sea is this true?

I'm sure there are other places, but as for "better", I very much doubt it.

I've had two gold Jade Swords from the Kappas outside Gyala Hatchery myself, as well as two Colossal Picks and a Kappa Shield so far. I recall getting a few bows and minor golds too, but I don't pay attention to those.


On the whole though, if you take out all four Kappa groups with the 55/SV Necro build, Gold items drop quite often.
And it is quite important to use the SV build; not the SS build...

Gyla Hatchery explorable. agreed, runned about 200 HM chests there and got about 5-8 jade swords (gold)

I got Jade Swords from chest running in Silent Surf in Hard Mode.

Btw, i farm these with monk: PS, SoA, Shielding, Flame Burst, Mark of Rodgort, Essence, Blessed, Balth.

edit: Tried SS for fun, I understand why Turtle shell works on SS.

... I found one in Rhea's Crater, normal mode, after wiping the bunch o monsties right outsida Seafarer's ~

{wasn't perfect but still got a few P from a curio collector nonetheless}

Oh i didnt say but i was using the ele SF build, which kills the groups in 1 go. I dunno if i get worse drops because i kill all at once? but anyway.....

After getting 93 archaic kappa shells i am now the prowd owner of a req 12 Jade sword dmg 15% in stance - not the best but im still happy.

Do you think if i used the sv build i would get better drops as you kill 1 at a time?

While vanquishing Pongmei Valley with 4 heroes and 4 players, 3 jade swords dropped out of chests near the island guardians. all were gold.

And it is quite important to use the SV build; not the SS build... Sry for this noobish question, but I have only beaten factions within the last 2 weeks, so I'm not too familliar with the later areas. So my question is, where do you leave from? I went to the hatchery, but there is a gate blocking the exit, so I also tryed from the pits, but there are rits and necros right outside the gate that drop me before i can get very far.

again, sry if this is noobish, and thx in advance for any and all help you guys can give

You go into the maisheng hills from gyala hatchery mission town, right outside of town. You can't fight the kappas however if you have the quest attack the kurzicks or somesuch though as it spawns a buncha bad guys instead of the kappas. Also the quest challenge of strength I think replaces one group of kappas with elder nagas, but you can still slaughter 3 groups.

I get a bit over 1.5k luxon faction per run. It's not especially good faction/time but it's more entertaining than just killing the kappa over and over again. The build is basically 55hp SV with shielding hands and soa. I think life siphon too. The kappa are the ones who drop the golds though.

as others have noted, kappas own for jade sword farming, as do the chests around them. i've gotten one from kappa (no base damage mod, mrch food) and one from the chests around there (req. 10 14^50, on my lvl 14 war. ) so farm them to death! the SV necro works very well, as do invinci fire eles (55 SF ftw.)

Jade swords inscribable dont come form HoH chest as far as i know they come from the chest in the deep the one after killing kanaxai. ive seen quite a few come from there
