It's finally happened. (ATS FAQ)

Quote:
Q: How do I spend reward points?

A: The tournament NPC will soon allow you to redeem your reward points for PvP skins. This system is not currently implemented.

Q: Are PvP skins unique skins?

A: No. The skins are the same as you find in PvE, however, they'll have different prices and tiers depending on their rarity.
So, to the dedicated PvPer, PvE now means nothing, thus futhering the divide between PvE and PvP.

That, in conjunction with the upcoming PvE-Only skills, signifies the ultimate divide between PvE and PvP.

I bought GW because of its effective pseudomerging of PvE and PvP. I'm a little disturbed by the segregation.

In practice, it may be nothing, as the skins are limited to only the Elite PvPers, and they may be quite expensive. But if I see Warriors running around with Elemental Swords and Crystalines in RA, there's going to be hell to pay.

PvE still has titles. Although, I agree with you. At first I PvP'd, then I wanted cool skins, so I PvE'd. Now all thats left for me is titles. Yet, titles re a big grind, almost to big. In my 11 months on my warrior, 1 max title.

Two words: Hero Battles

I think it's good anyway. Can finally have a sword that isn't a lame gladius, or wear wanderer's armor except with useful stats.

PvE skills actually help PvP players, so I don't see why they keep moaning about them. The less amount of skills useable in PvP, the higher possibility of the game being balanced.

I think you're jumping to conclusions much too early. You have absolutely no idea as to what the prices will be, so making threats at this stage is uncalled for in my opinion.

Whether we want it or not, looks like its coming and here to stay. I assume a.net will do it right and keep truely rare stuff difficult to get (ie, only the most hard core players can get PvP characters with FoW armor, etc).

And honestly Zinger, don't even try to act like you still play the game

I'll be okay with it as long as the really rare skins are not added to the trader, if they are that is just plain stupid.
TBH I think the idea in general is a bad move, as OP said, it just widens the divide. Either way I guess I have now wasted a couple mill on warrior weapons when I could have just gotten them for free, because the only reason I make a pve char is to use it in pvp.

Uhuh, and if they instead made it so that PVP'ers would get different skins than what can be found in PVE, there would also be hell to pay, always the same story with you guys.
You also fail to realize that the sheer number of added skill per chapter is ultimately PVP's demise. Hence they are going to start separating skills, has nothing do with dividing the playerbase.

As someone who mostly GvGs and has never even rolled a PvP only character I'm really hoping these rewards will have more uses in the future.[chocolate bunnies perhaps]
I PvP because I enjoy it, good thing too because the only reward is faction that will never be used.
I don't care at all about what skins people can get for themselves on PvP characters but please put some thought into a use for players who use PvEs for PvP as well.

There have been millions of threads on the suggestions board asking for this for years. Good thing it's finally being done.

I just hope they don't lame-out by excluding some skins. If it's in the game, it should be available for unlocking with and for PVP characters, period. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. They still can't run around with those skins in any PVE areas, therefore there is no legitimate grievance about this from any PVE player.

So the only way of getting these skins for pvp is to do either gvg tournaments or HvH tournaments?

Thats a rip.

Even if the rarest of the rare skins are added, they'll be SUPER expensive (in terms of Reward Points). I got 58 from coming 2nd in 1 AT, I guarantee you there will be costs of over 1000 points.

So the one thing that PvE had over PvP has been finally given into...Anyone want to tell me again how Anet shows preference to PvE?!?!?!?!

QFT...alot of times it's even the same people too. You can't please everyone and then there are people you can't please at all no matter what you do.

What will be funny is to watch prices in PVE area.

Many "PVP" people would go to PVE to buy the rare great looking sword to make himself/herself look better than every1 else.

Now that you will be able to just unlock that certain skin, will cause pricing on weapons to make either a huge drop, or a big jump.

I'm excited to see the skins, how many points they will cost, and so on and so forth. What I am bummed about though is selling back all those excellent PVE items i paid boat loads for to make my pvp char look great.

*sighs at another blunder by me.*

So PvPers stand to get prestige armour that can change insignia and runes whenever they feel like it with no danger of losing that armour to a bad salvage?
And the same for weapons?
Yet PvEers are stuck with non-optimal equipment because it was crafted when different rules applied, but they can't afford to replace it like for like?

Smooth.

Well you must be the rarest sort of player, because PVP and PVE have been well divided and contentious about any areas of forced merge forever now.

If this is true then its only fair for Anet to allow players to refund their armor for the amount they payed for it, I feel like i've been ripped off.

Ok Anet, now give Phoenix emotes for people who earn the Vanquisher title.

Seriously, this is ridiculous. Why are they giving skins away and not ACTUAL weapons? Why should you only get the reward if you roll a PvP only character and not if you use a roleplaying character in PvP? Customize em to prevent selling if you want, it doesn't really matter. It is ridiculous that once again rolling a PvP only character in 2 seconds benefits you more than spending hundreds of hours equiping your roleplaying character to make him PvP worthy. If you can PvP with roleplaying characters, why don't they get to reap the rewards as well? Completely ridiculous. And now PvE players are getting their own set of skills. Has it happened? Yes, I think it has. It seems Guild Wars is no longer one game, but two completely separate ones. Or at least it will be in the near future. Ugh.

Great for the uber "hardcore" elitists who think "PvP" or "PvE" is the greatest, horrible for people who actually enjoyed both. GG GW.
