Over my time playing Guild Wars, I've noticed number of people that constantly spam, no matter what time or day. Most of the time they are selling Un-ID's. Now I don't know enough about how bots work to have any 100% accurate ideas, but I assume these non-stop spammers have some sort of correlation with bots. Now most of the time, you find these people in large cities such as Lion's Arch, Kamadan, and Kaineng. Generally these non-stop spammers, for lack of better term, are low-level'd characters that somehow end up in Droks or Kaineng (Obviously runs, but I don't understand why make a character and never level it, when you could just sell stuff on another character instead of taking up an extra slot). I realize most people simply play the game and turn "local" and "trade" chats off (which I usually do in near-full districts). However, some of us are out on the market looking for something, but we're not sure what it is, so we see what some people are offering. Anyways, the point of this thread was to ask, if anyone knows, why Guild Wars limits the amount of people you can put on your "ignore" list. The reason why I'm writing this, is because I've put these certain people on my "ignore" from time to time as I see them, but when I try to add someone else, a message comes up saying "Your Ignore list is full" (or something to that effect). Anyways, I don't know if it's against the rules of Guru to post names, and I hope it isn't, but I'm going to list the people I've put on my ignore because of their addiction to spam...
As follows:
Sorry, no names. -unienaule
If you've seen any of the people listed, please call Crime Stoppers at...! (Joking). If you have any enlightening information, please post!

It is against the rules to post user names on this site. I am sure a moderator will edit your post very soon.
EDIT BY MODERATZOR: And he will wonder why you quoted the list of names, unedited.
EDIT BY LOTHLORIAN Cause i knew the moderator is good at his job and would edit mine as well

And due to the lack of an Auction house or any other Viable means to trade items you should get used to the spam because it is here to stay. I never post 2 or 3 in a row but I do post every 5 seconds or so in District 1 or 2 of towns to sell my items. We will see allot more of this due to the Solo Nerf and the increased amount of gold items in Hard Mode that people want to sell.
I reserve my Ignore list for players that are down right repulsive , rude, or swear constantly. I too wish there were more than 10 spots cause I have to remove people from the bottom of the list every now and then. I just hope I never run into them again! hehe

These spammers are often just in 1 district and i can set myself to ignore their spam, my ignore list is empty atm and i ever had 2 max people in it; 1 who always left a deep team while i was stil pugging it, and someone who was scolding me.
These spammers try to sell their items the best in game way possible atm, and yes that is spam do note that it only is common in the major citys (LA, Kamadan, and Kaineng).
My advise is to keep these ignore slots open for people who are harrassing you or people you don't want to talk to w/e.
Trying to ignore everyone who is trying to sell something by spamming in kamadan dis 1 is just useless....
Cough might wanna edit the "Moderatzor" part

My bad about posting the names, I had a feeling after posting that I probably shouldn't have done so. The point of the thread was to ask why there is a limit on the ignore list, and if there's any way to get around it. I realize I can't stop spam, infact I don't know any one who really is stupid enough to think they could. I simply want to add more than 8 or so people to my ignore list, and I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem. Once again, my bad on posting names, and to anyone who happened to know those people or are, infact, those people, I'm sorry if I brought any un-wanted PMs to you!
...And yes, there are TONS of pervs...Lol...

I agree the limit on /ignores needs either removed or increased to an acceptable level.
very simple reason...
...spammers know that with a limit, they wont stay on a persons ignore list very long.
...spammers know you wont waste your time putting them on ignore, because you might need it for someone else.
...spammers know that people cant be bothered to spend 10 minutes later on removing 20 people from the list, to make space for new people.
Result =
....spammers arent worried about spamming, because they know yoiu wont add them because its hassle to remove them later on, or eventually you'l take them off anyway.
....you dont even bother using ignore because you know you'l have to remove them later when the list gets full.
I've never understood, why in an MMO the limit was so stupidly small anyway. You're bound to meet alot of annoying people ingame that you want to ignore perminantly.
If I put someone on ignore, i do it for a reason. I dont want to remove them later on.
Plus spammers will know that people can very easily just add more and more people to the list without worry of space. You could basically ignore every spammer in LA until you could actually see the chat window.
With any luck, that would incourage them to stop.
