Concerns about network error and death leveling

Okay lets start by what I'm trying to do..

As many in the game, I'm also aiming for this Legendary Defender title and I must say, it's faster than I thought it would. Currently in the process of death-leveling my character at the Charr behind the gate.

All is wonderful and no real problems I can't handle till here. And at the moment my character is already level 17. Okay allot to do until I become level 20, but slowly getting there.

And now, where my concerns are... Every evening before I go to bed, I place my 2 accounts behind the gate, but before setting everything up, I close Guild Wars to reset the timer. It's not the first time I got disconnected after 12 hours or 24 hours automatically ( which is quite annoying but still acceptable).

But then there is this frustrating network errors I'm getting lately. After a good night sleep I step to my computer to see the auto reconnect screen. A nice addition to the game, but useless to me because it works only in a time-frame of 10 min. So there you have it... Setting up the charr late at night, having my pc sucking up loads of energy, making my room even more warmer for this time of year... for nothing, Zero XP.

I know there are some server problems and maintance was this week, and theres always the possibility my own internet had some issues ( which I doubt because of the two accounts that are leveling, one did stay ingame and the other got the error). But isn't it possible for an auto reconnect option, without pushing a button. This way, when I'm dreaming of a level 20 pre-sear toon, my Guild Wars will automatically reconnect to have it continue its dying.

You do realize how absurd this sounds? It's a rather absurd title in the first place...

I think there is an auto-kick after 8 hours in an explorable zone/mission... so no, they don't want you to be able to do this.

You do realize how absurd your response sounds? The only way to achieve LDoA is be DL'ing.

My guess is it is the server work this week.

My boyfriend and myself have been experiencing a few problems the last few days with regards to sudden disconnects and serious errors. I've attributed it to the latest server maintenance, especially since I was logged in for about 36 hours last weekend.

An auto reconnect feature would be nice, but it doesn't work for the times when you lag out due to a high ping. Trying to reconnect before the connection has settled kicks you out anyway so in those circumstances an auto reconnect would not be good. I hope the server problems clear up soon, else I'll be dreading skill capping on my survivor this weekend.

You're not supposed to go AFK. You get the title by babysitting the character.

I have recently started a new char to get the Legendary Defender title. I kind of got side tracked farming recently but I still park her at the Rez shrine out side of Ashford and let the birds peck at her while I sleep at night. I get up before I go to work kill the birds usually the second will have started to level up by this time, log out log in rinse and repeat. Get home from work kill the birds. Sometimes the computer locks up but I haven't been kicked. I usualy keep the game up for around 12 hours and it seems to work out pretty good. Eventually I'll get the title.

My only question is if we are not supposed to go afk and "baby-sit" our chars what do you do for the hours on end it takes for the birds or charr to Death level? knit, paint, read a book, watch the grass grow or twiddle your thumbs what?

The problems you’re having may be caused by the maintenance.

Oh- that would be really boring. To just sit there and watch it would be kind of pointless.

I do the same, set it up at the rez shrine and go to bed. I come back and kill the spider or bird that leveled up. Sometimes, you disconnect, most of the time it is there waiting for you. It is a long slow grind. More time to get reconnected would be nice.

Yes, more time to reconnect would be VERY nice. A good couple of the titles seem to be tailor-made for afk, so it is a shame that going afk has become more difficult of late.

BTW, error 7 X7 ftl yesterday (and not afk!), so was probably maintenance....I hope.
