Second Birthday miniatures are out!

No one lied. No one promised anything. Until recently we didn't even confirm there would be a gift. Now, if you can show me where we "promised" something other than a mini, I'd like to see it.

As to why there is a birthday mini, well, we conducted numerous polls in several langauges, but there was there was no clearcut "other thing" called out by fans. Sure, there were about a hundred ideas, but none of them were resoundingly the conclusive "vote of the masses" for a birthday gift. In the collected votes, miniatures were a very highly-rated choice, and received more votes than any other single alternative. In the end, the designers chose something that they felt would be fun and enjoyable, and something that players can keep, sell, or trade, as they see fit.
It's a gift. Enjoy it, or not, but please get over the negative attitude, it contributes nothing to the discussion here.

The reason I can't show you Gaile is that the Game and Dev tracker forum on this site is completely impossible to search.
However, I am absolutely positive that you did say that second birthday presents would be different after birthday miniatures were released last year.
As for one clearcut thing, I am of the opinion that the way the polls were conducted was incorrect, and obviously gave you the option to use the easy way out.
Instead of offering multiple different options, they should have asked:
"Do you want miniatures for your second birthday, yes or no?".
I am positive that you would have received an overwhelming "No" vote.

I agree with Gaile on this, people need to get over their selfish attitude and deal with whatever happens. If Anet fails at anything its your own opinion. They work hard to bring everyone such a wonderful game, so at least get over your disappointments.

If such poll's existed, I highly doubt people would've voted "no". Why? Because when a poll asks "Do you want this?" and gives 2 choices of yes and no, it could mean that if you choose "no", you won't get ANYTHING.

There was a CLEAR favourite and it wasnt mini-pets, in fact, mini's were mostly on the 'please no' lines.

I dont say this to complain or that i am unhappy, i just ran a neutral poll that offered up the most popular requests as options.
I have nothing against Gaile, in fact she has helped me out in the past, but i do think she over-reacted a little with her comment/post. You have to understand some people will always be unhappy with the choices that were made, even if nothing had to be offered at all.
Either way we have mini-pets now, and some will be great and some will suck, some will allow their lucky owners to earn vast sums of gold, others wont. It would be nice to see an official list of what new pets there are.
I just hope i dont get a mini-elf, they look so damn ugly when you use tonics, let alone as a pet. Many of the others shown so far in this thread do look very nice though.
