Starting a new character for farming

From top to bottom with the most farming, and the top three really:
The Monk
The Warrior
The Elementalist and Dervish
The Necromancer
The Ritualist
The Ranger
The Mesmer and Paragon
Edit: To give you a bit better of choices and reasons, I'll do the best here.
The Monk has so many different types of farming, and on top of that they have countless places to farm. The Warrior is much the same way, although I know far less about the warriors (I only play Spellcasters), but in my observations the Warrior has so many choices by playing (Commonly) a W/Mo or a W/Rt. The Elementalist and Dervish both have equal amount of places to farm around. The Elementalist often realize on his earth, and the dervish...I don't know yet :P Haven't managed to get Volishkar played yet at all to understand his farming. BUt, with the ELementalist I can tell you it is quiet fun and entertaining some times.
Now, with the least. The Mesmer. He doesn't have any thing going for him these days unless you count Dopefishes Solo Mesmer guide, which is excellent but you have to be patient. I've noticed it's not very fast, but it's nice to get some gold on a character you can not farm with all that often. Besides that, the Illusionary Weapon Scythe idea works wonders but keeping skills up being often the Me/E (Again, earth) that you are using that, you don't always get your Scythe attacks done as fast as you would like.

Warriors are the classic wammo farmers. 55 monks (and SS necros) are also very good farmers. Rangers can farm but only through trapping.
Basically, one of the top three.
However, if you want to farm HM, definitely go 55 or SS necro.
...I started a SS necro yesterday just because all the HM farming builds are 55/SS. It's really annoying. And yes I've been experimenting with warrior and ranger farming in HM. No dice.

Rangers are the best green farmers if you want to solo a hard boss. Kill enemies, touch, done. A/E and E/A are good for soloing some bosses, but the harder ones are really hard! Trapping a hard boss is one of the most satisfying things ever. Acolyte of Lyssa, pull into traps, SHABOOM! 8 dust traps set off, and she is knocked down = screwed boss. Noting that Rangers own, you can farm any green you want with any profession save Warrior with one build, all you gotta do is clear the mob, then you and the boss. All mesmer skills, 12 dom, 12 inspiration, signet of midnight, spirit shackles, spirit of failure, mind wrack, empathy, ether feast, mantra of inscriptions (i think) and I can't remember the last spot

I've been wondering this too...
And a few things I've been curious about:
#1. If W/Ri using VwK are becoming so popular, would a primary Ritualist with 16 Restoration be better or not in such a role?
#2. Is a 55/SS N/Mo better or worse than a 55/SS Mo/N?
Actually, I'm sure I had other questions but I can't remember them right now.

I'd say Dervish or Ele. I've managed some fantastic farms with my earth ele. So many defensive skills in the earth line that you can pretty much walk rightinto a mob with the right skills and decimate them. Dervish can farm too simply because dervishes are so self sufficient. Like the ranger they rarely need monk support if the build is done correctly. The Avatar greens are particularly easy to farm with the right Dervish build. I use either my EDA build or Mystic Sandstorm for farming the dervish avatar greens. EDA works because most of the mobs around the dervish are melee based and they require their sight to be able to hit you, rob them of that and bam no more damage. Mystic Sandstorm works just because it is a massive spike plus conditions which can take down almost anything, 130 damage +bleeding+burning+blind=lots of dead things.
