So much for the bonus weekend... Farming Lightbringer Points is actually HARDER now than it was before the change... even with the event bonus. Once the weekend is over it will be so impractical as to be ludicrous.
And why is this?
The location, volume and magnitude of the Realm of Torment mobs has been scrambled... There are less creatures to fight and more of the wrong types in the wrong place (i.e. you have to kill all of creature type X just to get to the shrine with the bounty for it... which is then useless) ...
Before the weekend I was doing sessions in Nightfallen Jahai that were actually getting me decent points. Now there are Graven Monoliths all around the Gate of Pain exit (where the Margonite bounty is)... and the only bounty for them is outside the Gate of Torment exit... I hate to think what I'll find there instead.
The hell is with this?
Seriously.... I'm a fairly unskilled guy when it comes to Guild Wars... I don't do too well for myself.... but the magnitude of the changes to the Realm of Torment mobs really wasn't that necessary.
v_v;
And I repeat the key point again: Less enemies = Less Lightbringer Points = More time wasted grinding for points.
The A-Net folks could have just made them less prone to overlapping their patrols, hence lowering the risk of multiple groups converging on the player party...
Realm of Torment Nerf.

I agree with both of you (Darksun and havoc019). In my understanding RoT is harder then heck to get the LB and Sunspear points. I think it’s better to go to “The Hidden City of Ahdashim and the Desolation to get those points. The reward for RoT has never really been worth the effort except for the quests at times.

I haven't got past the Realm of Fear yet so anything later than that I cannot quite access yet.... Nightfallen Jahai was my farming spot for points until now...
I'm possibly reconsidering if I can track down the better places you're talking about.
Still... if nothing else the changes will have reduced the problem I was having that required I up my Lightbringer level in the first place.

Firstly, I haven't completed Nightfall with any of my characters yet.
Secondly... what do you mean "just play it in hard mode"? You think I'd get Lightbringer Points any faster in Suicide Mode? The pnly thing playing in Hard Mode would raise is my death count. ¬_¬
That kinda answer is rather like answering the question "how do I get more money" with the reply: "hold up the new york stock exchange with a beretta in broad daylight". It isn't impossible... but the odds of any kind of practical success are so small that an ant would crush them underfoot without even noticing.
I'm grinding for Lightbringer Points primarily so I don't die as often in the Realm of Torment in normal mode... for the record... Hope that gives you some idea of perspective.
And if I ever decide to max out Lightbringer then I will probably continue to do so in Normal Mode until they make Suicide Mode easier.

And other posters are recommending Vabbi or Dasha, so I figured, no offence intended, that this guy should probably stay in Normal Mode. I just wanted to point out a safer, productive way to earn LB points in RoT. Plus, it's a Demon-free run. |
.... It is no use anyway.
I still wipe whenever I set foot in the Domain of Fear... I don't understand... The groups I'm fighting are smaller than the ones I can completely trample into nothingness in Nightfallen Jahai... and yet in the Domain of Fear the same enemies can completely wipe out my group... even one group of them smaller than my own group. Can ALL this come about soley because we're moving a mere 15% slower? Seriously?!! >_<;;
Incidentally... I never asked if it was normal for all skills to take several seconds to activate in-game? I never questioned because it has been doing it since I first started playing Guild Wars... and it has annoyed me quite severely on several occasions. Like I'll try to cast Assassin's Promise on an enemy near death, within range... and it just flashes for about 6 seconds... then tells me there is no target. Furthermore, sometimes I figure it is going to use the skill since it was pressed down for a few second, so I press the second one in sequence... and suddenly I find my Assassin is trying to start a combo with an Off-hand and it naturally misses. Totally useless. I've never had this kind of trouble with offline games....
Is this normal?
Do other people put up with this same delay on command input?

Uhm... that's called lag. Serious lag, by the sounds of it.... And no... people don't put up with it. Check the support forums for ways of reducing lag. Unfortunately, the best solution is likely "get a better internet connection".

Do other people put up with this same delay on command input? Wow... I'm just going to point you to here. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/f...splay.php?f=16

I see your point but killing Margonites in Hard Mode is barely more difficult than killing them in Normal Mode.

So you just want to progress in the storyline, right? If this is the quest you have problems with, then follow that walktrough and run past those enemies.
