This seems just like a large scam.

That's a really mean thing to say. Rahja's trying to set up something for our enjoyment, not for personal gain.

It's nothing against him/her, it just seems very suspicious. Taking donations in Obsidian Shards?

good idea. Oh anyone wanna run around the campaigns with the link to this thread for some puplicity? I have to ab a lot since the Braveheart Alliance lost a slacking guild and am concentrating on doing that so I won't be able to.

I wasn't going to post this or amounts as I'm not in this for recognition of how much I donated
but if I ever thought this was a scam from the start I would NOT have donated 100k plus 10 ectos to Rahja for this event.

Damn...it was moved to May 5th. I was looking forward to taking a virtual date to the ball, but I guess instead I'll be taking a real date to prom.

Wow. This is really incredible how so much news of this event is getting around! Sounds like it could be a great time! I had seen this thread at a glance when it was first posted, but didn't really have time to read about it... then today a friend of mine PM'd me in game about it saying how big it is getting! Shortly after then, i got *ping! ping! ping! ping*, FLOODS of PM's from friends about this!!!!!!

Well, that weekend i actually might be working T_T". However, i will see if i can push my work schedule back a bit, i really wanna attend this event! I will know if i can attend in the next couple of days, so Rahja, if you need any more people to volunteer to help with anything, i'd be down for helping! I am an officer in a large PvE guild, so i will also post this thread link in our announcements. We have lots of DoA guild friends, connections and contacts, so you may see quite a lot more attendees!

Anyway, i hope to see yall there! And again, i will repost in a couple days or less to say for sure if i can help out. yay!!!!!

Alright Come on guys. There's gotta be a way to catch the attention of Anet with this thing. If nothing else at least Gaile Grey should somehow become informed of it. After all she was at the Massacre of Maguma Stade so why shouldn't she make it to this huge thing?

Also I am going all over the Continent of Tyria spreading the news about this thing in the towns. I'd like to form a publicity group and have people cover the different regions (ie: one person cover all of maguma jungle, someone else cover all the districts of lions arch, another person cover the northern shiverpeaks, ect.) If you would like to be a part of the group message me in game(Master Halbarad) or send me a private message right here in guilwars guru. First come first served as far as what you get to cover on the map. But like I said pm me and ill send you a list of the regions I need covered.

They may know, but they don't seem to be caring too much, nor does support about my account! Alex Weekes from PLAYNC was nice enough to notice, and Izzy is aware of the event, but this type of thing isn't his department. Unfortunately, it looks as if I am going this one alone without any official support as of yet. I will continue to hope for it though, but if I cannot log into my characters (thus the reason I submitted a support ticket), then the event will have to be hosted by a different character, and some of the donations are on my ritualist, mule, and dervish... all of whom I cannot log into... So let us hope that PLAYNC support will come through with some type of help.

You know, I was waiting for a response like this. Truth be told, yes, I could very well scam every single person who has donated and backstab both the Guru and GWO communities complete, the entire event could be an illusion so I could make millions in donations and get my sweet tooth/ale hound titles completed... but to what end? Let it be known to you and to any other sceptic, that I do not play Guild Wars very much anymore, and would really have no gain in scamming anyone. I was a member of the guild [LBS] many months ago, back when that guild tag was THE SYMBOL OF TRUST. The days of [LBS] have come and gone, but my integrity is still there. During the trade window glitch a few months ago, I scammed 5 people, in a matter of speaking. I dupped the trade window and stole a mini bone dragon, 10 shards, and 60 ecto... but get this... I returned them after I "scammed" them. I gave a speech in ToA AD1 on how to avoid the scam, the signs about it, and taught around 1500+ people how to avoid the scam all while avoiding teach HOW to do it. There have been many times where I could have scammed people on a GRAND SCALE, and I do mean grand. Holding 500k for Sir Craig Gordon during my days in LBS, holding a perfect chaos axe for another LBS member, and transfering thousands of platinum over the course of my playing history... so many opportunities to steal and deceive people. I didn't. Why? Integrity and honor. My word is worth more then a perfect dwarven axe. Why? Because all we have in this world is our honor, our integrity, and trust is the only system that humans can truly rely on. I hold trust to be the most important aspect of my life. Why don't I scam everyone here? Because my honor, my integrity, who I am would be ruined and my name would be forever known as a name that isn't trustworthy. Dishonor is far more expensive then anything I could gain by scamming here. Hope that clears that up.


Anyways, thanks all for the support, and keep spreading the word. Changes to the event are coming in the near future, so keep your eyes peeled for them, including staff updates, donation updates, donor list, and new/revised events to make the event even more worth the visit.
