Hard Mode Player Match-Up

Hard Mode will be released sometime this week, according to Gaile’s latest chat log. Therefore, for those who want the Guardian titles, we must prepare an organized player match-up topic, as, well, you know what they say about PuGs. Gaile said that the requirements to access Hard Mode are campaign completion and Ascention (?). Therefore, there will be many players in these missions trying to complete them. For example, many people on GWO said they will do the Great Northern Wall first for a sense of nostalgia. If GNW turns out to be more difficult than anticipated, there will be infinite whining from the PuGs. And, of course, GNW only allows for 4 people, so one bad apple in a PuG could have big consequences. Thus is the irony of Hard Mode…

Therefore, I have decided to create a topic for players who want to get the Guardian title. That means getting mission and bonus. This is serious business. Although I have a feeling many players will use Heroes/Henchmen due to the aforementioned “phenomenon,” others may want the advantage of 6 Heroes and some human help in missions where it’s difficult with AI only (i.e. Eternal Grove, Gyala Hatchery, Thunderhead Keep).

And I have my doubt that there will be enough players to fill all missions in all campaigns. If there’s even a single irrational mission, you’ll be left alone, unless you have some support from the people in this topic.

Criteria: These criteria are recommended if you post interest in Hard Mode, as it gives an indication of player accomplishments. Elitism? Maybe. Careful Planning? Yes.

• Character Name: The name of the character you wish to complete Hard Mode with. Simple.
• Profession/Preferred Builds: The profession of your character, obviously. Every person has a preferred build, so a general type of build may make choosing a character more specific (i.e. Axe Warrior, SF Elementalist). I’ll presume that your character is capable of playing any necessary build…
• Campaign Completion/Protector: If you are attempting to do Hard Mode, I strongly hope that you have completed all the campaigns, atleast (that include Kryta and the Magumma Jungle in Prophecies!) Protector titles are helpful to judge player experience, not necessarily skill. Familarity will be a huge part of adapting to Hard Mode.
• Heroes: Your well-geared, lv. 20 heroes, which can improve a group. (by “well-geared,” I mean Insignias, max weapons, Superior runes where necessary, and a Vigor rune. Just enough so that a Hero can be a worthy replacement of a human. I still see Dunkoros using that Holy Branch.)

Lightbringer, I’m not listing as a part of the criteria. It’s common sense to take Lightbringer’s Gaze into Torment areas…and I hope people have common sense. Plus, the Hard Mode patch will supposedly change the Lightbringer system…

And I strongly doubt that any of the missions will require TS/Vent. Hard Mode Urgoz/DoA/The Deep, maybe. But those are obviously special cases.
