I was playing for about 30minutes before dinner. Came back 30 mins later to play again and it was stuck on that "connecting to arenanet" screen. Still the same thing today. Checking the router soon to see if it suddenly decided to block it :S I donno but i hope i get it working soon
EDIT: No problems with the router. Ports are open. -diag completes. Have deleted and re-added gw to zone alarm, tried it without zone alarm, updated firmware on the router/modem. Running out of ideas

I think we are still seeing the aftermath of a major game update. This may lead to dome log in issues. But, it's only a guess, could just as easily be a regional internet issue.
By any chance have you all ran a -image lately?
I find that if my game is fully updated it cuts the connection and game loading time down a lot.

My log in and character seletion screens are a bit slower since I got back yesterday, I think it something to do with this "background downloading". I would let it finish download but I have no idea how big the download is.
The download itself doesn't seem to affect the gameplay much, fps still high, but sometime the ping did jump right out of the roof.

The last game update is 125 megabytes. You may want to bite the bullet and do a -image to get it over with because all that background streaming will negatively impact your game.
Maybe run it before you go to work, school or bed.
"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image
Don't forget to take the "-image" out of the command line when you want to load the game up for play.

Now i'm getting error=005 on most of my characters. The others can get in town but cant leave. This is a guild wars server error right? or is there something i can do about it? |
I've already tried the -image thing and this had no effect. Some can get into town, but none can leave town, and some I can't log into at all. Sadly, I'm slightly heartened that others are experiencing this, as change may come from it.
