Team skill and coordination? In Hard Mode? This is blasphemy! This is madness! (i.e. I seriously doubt ArenaNet will buff Mesmers to that level) |

Oh well, I guess its something else I won't care for. But I can wait for it to show full disgust I suppose.
It's been said that the monsters are getting better skillbars for Hard Mode. Well, what about the henchmen skillbars? Presumably, we're going to have to take it a little slower in Hard Mode (vs. Normal Mode). Can you please give the warrior henchmen a different elite than Charge! for Hard Mode?
Also, how to access Hard Mode is becoming a frequent dispute amongst my guildies lately. I'd really like some clarification on exactly how we're going to be able to access Hard Mode sometime before actual release. The wording of the Protector title in the titles menu makes it seem like we'll need Protector of that campaign with that character to access it. This is the belief that my guildies are running with lately, and we've all been scrambling to complete protector titles because of it. I've been countering that you only need Normal Mode protector title to qualify for Hard Mode protector title, but not to access Hard Mode in general. Who's right on this?

Backfire. They'll cast through it no matter how hard Hard Mode is.

I just really hope that instead of making "hard" mode a game of "pull the mob, kill, but if you over aggro you die lol". That's really annoying. I'd like if every mob is beatable without having to fear hardcore aggro- but no mob is avoidable and no mob can be beat with general "c space c space" tactics. Make us use our brains a little. Also, hopefully there wont be those LAME things like "While in this explorable area, all spells take 10 times as long to cast, you can not be healed, all health regen is disregarded, and every time you attack you take twice the damage you deal to the enemy." Hard mode shouldn't be hard as in "lol try to beat it when ur character is sucked up", but more like "try to beat it when the enemy mob has 3 monks all healing each other and spamming aegis while the 2 enemy warriors assault your monks and spellcasters and your warriors get hexed to hell by the 2 enemy mesmers while your backline is assaulted by a BoA assassin who has Spellbreaker casted on him... and each one of them has a Res Sig."
Now THAT'S what I call fun- brutality, but fun :-) Not some "lol tank go aggro as we safely slaughter them", or "lol retarded environmental effects" but "lol use some skill and thinking and balanced parties to win against mobs of all different types." Make insect mobs dozens of weak insects while giant monsters are maybe 2 or 3 insanely skilled monsters. Make it FUN! After all, it is HARD mode.

I think this weekend is a lead up to hard mode next week. The lock picks were supposed to come with hard mode and they are tied to your treasure hunting title and your lucky title. All those golden eggs count towards you lucky title so it is a logical lead up. The other possibility is that it comes out in two weeks and next weekend opens the boardwalk to get lucky titles up some.
EDIT: And to the guy's post above me, that is a little extreme. But if it was somewhere in between Realm of Torment and Domain of Anguish that would be good. Challenging, but not so difficult you can only use certain people to tank, nuke, heal.

I predict the following update notes:

Im mainly hoping for the skills the monsters use to change to something more PvP worthy and less cattle farming worthy. Something that actually gives you a sense of accomplishment for killing.
I dont care if they also buff them to obscene levels, I just want them to have decent builds. It doesnt matter if they are level 24 if their build sucks. I can kill all the lv 24 mahgo hydras and pretty much every other creature as well outside perdition rock by myself. Why ? Because their build sucks. All those creatures use what ? 4 skills ? All of which have no combo usage with the other three. If hard mode fixes this, I just may consider going back to PvE for a while....

When I see the word "Hard" in PvE, I often translate it into "more mobs, higher level, increase power". If it is turned out to be like that why not just call it DoA mode. That area is complete failure IMO because it promotes holy trinity.
Im hoping it will be "Challenge" or "Advance" mode. Less mobs, lower level, improve the monster builds, each monster has ressurection skill, smarter AI, etc.
