Pretty much the same news as we've already got, but I did find a couple items of interest.
  • Hall of Monuments will be acquired in the early portions of GW:EN.
  • Each accomplishment will be recorded in the HoM as physical monument. (statues I guess)
  • GW2 characters who "inherit" items from your current GW characters will gain an early advantage in GW2. (sounds like 'inherited' armor will have some AC)
  • Companions: Customisable NPCs (similar to Heros) that do not take up a party slot. Each player can bring a single Companion while questing. Players that do not use Companions will have Buffs available.
  • GW2 is being specifically designed to work well for both solo and group play.
All of the points outlined above were taken from direct quotes of Jeff Strain himself.

It doesn't say what can be inherited, though.

As to the OP: This is some awesome information, even if it's very little. I'm loving the choices available for solo/group play...Something I've always wanted from Guild Wars. Thanks for the info, Frag.

I'm pretty pissed that we just got a 2 page spread and the US got a 12-page feature article. Was interesting though.

It's a bit hard to cave in to anything when the interview was completed before PC Gamer reached subscribers in the US . It simply represents slight differences in the information provided to each partner we work with, and differences in interpretation by individual journalists quite often.

Anyone know if it's possible to get PC Gamer from the US?

Bowman, I know a newsagent in Aspley, Brisbane that usually gets it.
I wouldn't expect them to have it for at least another week, but I'll pay them a visit tomorrow.

.............

*orders PC Gamer*

I had a feeling we'd be jipped on the length of the article.
Sorry to be materialistic, but does the PC Powerplay issue come with an Minipet Asursa key?

I think the MiniPet key is in Issue 139. I remember seen a post by Alex saying something like that.

Not ture, this still can me having X = Unlocks Y in GW 2 for your character.

With armor and weapons potential being on a different system, it may be impossible to do a direct transfer but unlock an "equivalent" item. It may not even be related to the same item. Example Fow could unlock "Fow" looking armor but may have starting stats for example.

The thing is we don't know at this time.

Can you please post the exact quote from Jeff Strain about point 3:

'GW2 characters who "inherit" items from your current GW characters will gain an early advantage in GW2. (sounds like 'inherited' armor will have some AC)'

I'd like to know exactly what he said.

Thanks!

Now *that* sounds good. Just went back for masters in Nightfall and after forming up a full group, had to kick someone to make room for a hero...

All items accquired this way are unique: there is no other way within Guild Wars 2 to accquire them. So players who play Guild Wars today both gain an early advantage in Guild Wars 2 and also gain a way to uniquely differentiate themselves in Guild Wars 2.
