When the muse is the ruse, and the mods want to play
The names are just games, and words are the way
A smile for the style, and a grin for what's true
The joke is the yolk, and the egg is on you :-P
Hooray for April Fool's!

In that case:
Storm Crow, you'll notice that all the forum sections have been named based on the stereotypes of that section. Such as the suggestion section having lots of threads about auction houses, or the screenshots section being filled with posts about how hot their character is, or the trade section being filled with overpriced items.
This is also applied to the writing section. Stereotypically emo's write poetry, which is obviously where the mods derived the name from. It's just a stereotype, just as all the other sections are. Nothing to get worked up about.

Happy April Fool's Day. I'm sorry, but I have to agree with this Storm Crow. Lemme put myself in your position.
Lemme think of the worst possible name for the PvP forum....crap, I suck at names, I really can't think of anything. But lets' assume, for the purposes of this example, that the name implies that PvPers are whiny babies who ruin the game for PvE'ers and do nothing but cry for balance (let's not get into an argument about the validity of that statement or this, too, will turn into PvP vs PvE).
Why would I get offended about that? Yeah, I'm a PvPer. But I would laugh my head off since there are so many that fit the forum stereotype. I don't fit it, so I don't care. Still makes my day. I honestly can't understand why you've taken offense to the temporary name of the Lyssa's Fiction forum. This is a JOKE! You can laugh. Laugh at yourself. That's what I would do if the PvP forum was renamed to the aforementioned.
So lighten up, okay? This isn't anything to get worked up about. Do you really think anyone thinks that the people in Lyssa's Fiction are all emo? It's like insulting yourself as a joke. Everyone realizes it's a joke so they don't think any less of you. The same concept applies here. Have some fun! It's April 1st! Go prank the neighborhood mod if you want! :P

Whoa, whoa, hey now! This is the Internet, and a joke has been played here. It's nothing to get upset over! Getting mad at the Internet is... Well... You know, it's best not to finish that statement, because you might take it personally.
Cheer up, and if you get angry about a joke on the 'net... Go outside, and get happy. Oh, and stay far, far away from Bash.org.

The best way to express your lack of care is to simply not return to the thread. But stick around, its rare to have a thread on Guru like this open for more than a few minutes.

Storm Crow, I highlight our Lyssa's Fiction section on our homepage to draw attention to the great writing of fiction, poetry, role-playing and more that goes on in that section. If you can't laugh at yourself then I truly am sorry that you are offended. I said my mods suck too. I called Q&A newbies. My heavens I even made fun of the developers. You can be offended but honestly, it's meant light-hearted and is certainly not something to become 'up in arms' about.

Inde, dear, dear Inde. I really do appreciate how much work you do for this forum. I respect your opinion and your appreciatoin to detail on these occasions. However, I have to ask you this question: Why do you highlight Lyssa's Fiction? Do you feel bad for it because it doesn't receive much publicity and posting? Or are you really just trying to get people to look at our works because you yourself believe they deserve praise? Answer me this and maybe I'll take your words a bit more to heart.
Idiedforurlolz: There's this buton just to the left of the 'A' key. It says 'caps lock' on it. Please push that button and I'll read your post.

Awesome, I sense the opportunity to quote some of the greatest poetry of all time....

No reason to get excited. The thief, he kindly, spoke. There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke. Haha.

But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate. So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late. |

Storm Crow, I won't allow the derailment of this thread further but I'll answer your question. I am a writer. I do graphic design for a living and I have 3 novels under my belt. *gasp* I've even done poetry. Of course I can laugh at myself, the stereotype and the subculture. I highlight the section because it's part of what I do. Just as I try to highlight Nolani's Academy for the great artistry there because I do sketches and drawings as well. Artists and those trying to make a living from writing have an upward battle and, while I myself am terrified at having my work shown publicly, I admire those who put their's up for critic in public to learn and grow their writing style, methods and who open themselves up.

Three novels, eh? I expect then that you would know conflict when it's written, no matter what said conflict was about. I am accepting your apology, and I thank everyone here for their time, it really made my day and was quite amusing. You can take a girl from her element, but you can't take the element from the girl.
Happy April Fool's everyone!
Love! <3
