FoW and UW Access Weekend

Players who have been looking towards The Fissure of Woe or The Underworld with an eye to its challenging gameplay and special loot will be pleased to note that this weekend offers free and open access to both areas. All statues of Grenth and Balthazar located within outposts will be active for characters who are qualified to enter these areas. Access will be at no cost, and will not be tied to a territory holding the Favor of the Gods. This free access will begin at Noon PDT on Friday, and end at 11:59 p.m. PDT on Sunday night.


All i gotta saw is WOOT!!! This is going to rock big time, i can't wait. Also check website for offical posting if you don't beleive me.((Also if this is the wrong place, plez tell me)

Sweet! I've been wanting to try out some experimental builds in there, but have been too freaking cheap to do so...

the negating 1k is negligible, and not tying it to favor is about as refreshing as the moment you stop banging your head against a brick wall

most people who want to do fow/uw have adjusted their play to compensate for favor

so basically this is meaningless

well this is actually good news for me... I play in the American Districts...I work 5am - 5 pm and I can't remember the last time america had favor before i had to go to bed. so I am reallllllly looking forward to this...

i doubt it. most of the people who do heavy ecto farming already have changed their play times accordingly. all this means is that we'll get a lot of people in FoW or UW who don't know what to do. if prices do drop over the weekend, they'll come back up with a week anyways.

This gives me a chance to try that W/Rt solo farming build. To bad ectos wont be worth anything once the weekend is over. Shards value has dropped recently also, the traders wont even be able to give those things away.

This is not meaningless, I think it will be great. Would be a great opportunity for Anet to see that we don't need UW/FoW tied to PvPers winning in PvP. Maybe they are doing this because of that one thread.

At last!!! I hope the statues in int are switched on also, and hope against hope this is a test for the silly,widely hated favor system to finally go.

A small part of me thinks this could be a swangsong for many farm builds, as it looks like whole skill sets on monsters will be changing. Enchant removing smites - yay.

Let's just hope that Euro doesn't get err13 and 40 constantly again this weekend. Not like it benefits euro servers anyway since we always have favor

Great! I have the weekend free. I'm looking forward to exploring these areas. Maybe someone will put together a few full teams for those of us who want to do it that way. I'm not interested in farming it, just going in to have something different to do.

Meh, I hope ectos drop.. but if you can farm ectos, you can afford to get into UW, in one run, farming all smites and aatxes, you'll make about 5k.. plus ectos. This weekend will just add some noobs =)

Yeah I hope this might be a test weekend to see how people like FoW and UW open constantly. Get rid of that stupid PVP winning system for UW+FoW.

Question(s): Why do you guys want statues to be up in Int.? Why wouldn't they be up in int?
