Grenths Grasp Soloer?

I am new in this forum. Been playing GW for about 6 months and own all 3 campaigns and have all classes available in my acct. My main farmers are the most commonly used and most reliable farm builds out there, 55/105 monk, Sliver Ele and Sin, Vengeful Rit, R/Me, and Vengeful Tank builds. Can someone tell me if there is a build already made or go around method using heroes and henchies to farm the "Acolyte of Grenth". I did the search in the forums with no joy. Please post links here if there is an existing thread already. Thanks.

I think you could clear out his mob with heroes/henchies then flag them off and just use a Riposte Warrior like the Sskai's Sword build
or the N/Me boss solo I'll try it out later and see if it works.

EDIT: I'd probably throw a self-heal like Ether Feast into the N/Me build, because that Chilling Victory can hurt without hitting.

i actualt discovered this by accident

jsut use hench to kill everying
and then
wait for the NPC walking there, you can get him struck behind it and the wall
he drops in 5 seconds whit ritualist
as ele just take ranged skills like everyone else, you wont need healing

I have been farming ever since the acolytes started dropping greens. The GB riposte build works well, i swap out bonnettis defense for an att skill, like Gash - cause D Riposte causes bleeding and gash does more damage if your foe is bleeding.

Yeah, I've been getting suggestions of using the Tank GB Riposte build even from fellow guildees. just not proficient enough in using my tank. Guess just need a little bit of practice on the build itself. His Elite form is not 55 friendly whatsoever. hehehehe

every avatar except dwayna can be easily soloed using auspicsious parry / both ripostes, and dolyak and live vicariously. This is faster than grenths balance / riposte

1 on 1 with the Acolyte of grenth with a tank is crazy. He overpowers you no matter what. I tried the AP Riposte build with vicarious, i can bleed him, but thats about it. Sometimes 2 out of 10 tries i successfully kill him and obviously no drop since am still posting here. And most of the kills i had was if i get a lucky minion mob left behind tanking with me while my henchies r away flagged. Trying the GB Riposte build next time.

hate to say this n sane, but you dont know how to work the build if you cannot easily solo him without losing more than 10% life

i farmed out every acolyte scythe except dwayna using the same exact build

edit: if you are leaving a minion mob, then you are probably flagging your heroes away while he is less than 100% health. The whole thing to soloing a boss is you gotta start when he's happy, 100% health, and just chillin. That's truly soloing. When he's already fighting and lost health and you flag your heroes away and keep at him, that's not soloing and you will have your standard chance, ie if a green drops 1/8 chance its yours

You're right man. I haven't used my tank farming really. Probably my skill chaining or attribute point spread are all all dorked up, or even both . More practice I guess. Oh well. Back to the usual E/A , A/E sliver mode

the thing is you must have either auspicious, riposte, or deadly riposte always active. About 95% of the time I get hit, I have one of those active -- and it negates all damage. For the 5% I don't, hopefully dolyak is up which will negate most of the damage. Live vicariously is to heal the remaining damage plus any bleeding.
The key is to have auspicious or either riposte up at all times, so understanding how auspicous recharges the ripostes is key and how to cycle them fast

I made some serious coin farming Suli's scythe when NF was brand new, and ppl would be happy to pay 30-40k for each, because everyone had a derv and just wanted their nicely modded green

I dont want to start an argument about whether the Auspicious Parry build or the GB build is better, but the reason why I use the GB build is because I can solo Grenth, Modti, and both War bosses in this area at the same time (i can actually kill the other boss but its a bit of a waste of time). Of course this is a combo build of Ripostes and Attack skills. Now since the Auspicious Parry build is strictly melee bosses only, Im sure you could kill Grenth and both warrior bosses but im not sure if you could kill Modti as well and her Staff is comparable to Grenths scythe in price.

you are often standing closer to the wall but i made mistake in blocking the NPC

Finally got my drop and kinda figured out the blocking manipulation.

Steps:
1) Start from Pogahn passage.
2) Talk to Priest for Blessing on Kournan Kills if you're not a Sunspear Castellan.
3) Clear all the Kournan groups inside the fortress (by careful pulling BTW, making sure you dont pull the groups and the boss's mob at the same time). Sometimes a Camp Commander spawns with 1 of the groups that can lob heavy artillery on you and you AI buddies, don't stress just make sure the boss's mob be pulled last.
4) Once the inside of the fortress is clear, pull the boss's mob and make sure to call your targets so your AI buddies will focus on your target. Don't worry about the boss getting killed coz it takes a lot of hits to take down the Acolyte. Once all the boss's henchmen are dead, run away back to the res shrine. The boss if he follows you will stop following at the end of the bridge.
5) Now do the flag your hench method. Making sure their names are greyed out.
6) The Blocking manipulation starts. Sometimes there is a male NPC or female NPC with two others walking back and forth by the entrance to where the Acolyte hangs out. Depending on the spawn, the male NPC will be permanently stationary on the perfect blocking spot. If all 3 NPC's are moving, you have to time it correctly and click on the NPC (Male or female). Only 1 of those 3 will act as your blocker. If the blocker is not in the right position your blocking chances are close to nothing meaning you cant solo the boss
7) Once blocked, self explanatory, Kill the Acolyte of Grenth and hope for a green drop.
