Bonus damage actually sounds nicer than some condition.

well one problem with bleeding would be hundred blades->Gash>final thrust. But honestly shock warriors have a better evisc->executioners anyways.

And killing all enemies with the first blow and exploiting their corpses with second sounds even nicer, but thats not really what we are discussing

Now seriously - i don't think double damage can solve its problem. It strikes twice and has lower cooldown than Tripple Chop so the added damage should be much lower that [email protected] Sword, but then Swords don't have other AoE skills to synergise with that and in the end that bonus damage will hardly change anything - Dragon Blow will still be better in the both things 100 blades does (adren and damage) and the chance to make it viable skill would have been lost.
Or they can add 30+ damage on every hit and then we will see every warrior running it which will be equaly bad.

If it were up to me, lower the cool down to 5 or 6 and allow it to hit 360 degrees to keep par with the animation.

Though this suggestion may be off par with the whole attack thingy, it's just my idea.

Hundred Blades {elite} 5 energy, 1 second cast, 15 second recharge:
Skill. For 1...10 seconds, each attack you do hits all foes in front of you twice. This skill takes 7...5 seconds longer to recharge for each attack skill used.

It's no attack, but I would actually like it to be closer to a hundred blades rather than just two alone...

ADDED:
As most people would think that this would be cheesy with Final Thrust......
CHANGE!!!

Skill. For 1...10 seconds, each attack you do hits all foes in front of you twice. This skill takes 7..5 second longer to recharge for each attack skill used and also deal 30% less damage when an attack skill is used.

I'm not for the skill causing conditions at all. Its name implies a ton of hits so it should have multiple hits with maybe either extra damage, IAS for 5 seconds, or perhaps +50% ade gain per hit.

To live up to its name, it should hit ALL adjacent foes (once or twice) and i would love to see bleeding added as a permanent condition (especially if it effected all targets hit).

I'm not sure if xtra damage alone would pull it off the shelves.... It would have to be pretty high plus damage for me.... dragon slash (with its adren gain) would still out damage it if the + damage was too low

remember.... the only sword elite that really gets some use right now is [card]dragon slash[/card]....

so in my opinion [card]hundred blades[/card] should get more than just plus damage if its gonna be on par with this elite.... the sword line needs to see more use....

How About,

Hundred Blades
Elite Sword Attack. Attack target foe and all adjacent foes twice. You strike for +3...15...20 Damage. Each strike gains double adrenaline.

ummm.... that would be like... unlimited adrenaline every 8 seconds... yikes!

Hundred Blades...final thrust.... HB...FT..HB...FT..HB...FT..HB...FT.. sounds fun but may be a bit overpowered....

Well I don't really care what they do to it as long as it's adjusted. Change is always interesting. Even if it's unwanted...

yeah.... especially on skill that has not been used for a while.... and the only sword elite for the core campaign....those poor 'core only' players :P

And it definately makes sense to have bleeding. Kinda hard to be hit with hundred blades without a scratch. Another possiblility is both attacks cannot be blocked or evaded (which sounds a bit close to sun and moon tho )

I wonder, WOULD bleeding imbalance something? What is the harm of a -3 AoE degen?

oh wait. I get it.

PriS, that's probably one reason why 100 Blades doesn't have bleeding.

Gameshoes, I disagree with your idea primarily because it is too drastic a change and Anet rarely does things like that to skills. This is a little more than an increased area of effect or a few numbers changed.

Plus the other day you said non-attack skills shouldn't be in the weapon skill lines.

To quote you:

Perhaps this:

Hundred Blades {E} 5 energy, 5 recharge
Swing twice at target foe and all foes adjacent to that foe. Each swing deals an additional 2...6...8 damage per affected foe. If more than three foes are affected, Hundred Blades fails and this skill is disabled for an additional 15 seconds.

I can't word it right, basically this is how it would work at 12 spec (+6).

1 enemy:
+6 from first swing
+6 from second swing

One enemy total +damage over two swings = 12

2 enemies:
Enemy one:
+12 from first swing
+12 from second swing

Enemy two:
+12 from first swing
+12 from second swing

Two enemies total +damage over four swings = 48

Three enemies total +damage over six swings= 108 (18 x 2 + 18 x 2 + 18 x 2)

Basically make it become a really powerful skill if the enemies are all balled up, and if not you have an attack with a five second recharge with the potential of returning two strikes of adrenaline with a small bit of +damage. In this form, it becomes a lot better than Sun and Moon Slash vs. a single target (arugably faster recharge with some additional damage so it's actually a little useful vs. armoured targets), and a lot better where I can only assume it is meant to shine (hitting multiple targets). The disabling and failing on more than three foes would prevent farming abuse where otherwise insanely high +damage scores would be recorded.

It wouldn't become better than a Dragon Slasher in PvP unless you can routinely catch enemies balled up, but your ability to round up mindless AI in PvE will create a devestating effect.

I've always loved Hundred Blades, but it has become grossly outclassed by it's fellow sword elites, and laughable when a non-elite does pretty much the same thing.

ONE HUNDRED Blades only hits foes TWICE? HAH! Give it 1...3...4 hits, scaled based on sword mastery. Adrenaline Engine? Yes, but maybe this will bring galrath and silverwing back into being a usable skill. I mean, cmon, Silverwing Slash even sounds cool!

Edit: Forgot to mention an increased recharge time... 15 seconds sounds fair? Yes?

One of the best things about hundred blades is the quick recharge, i think raising it would be a bad idea.
