to bring rez or not?

It is my strong beliefe that players should bring rez anytime they are in a party with people. to me the only time not to bring rez is in alliance battles, solo farming, or with an all henchmen team. But lately i have realized that many players, even experienced ones almost never bring a ressurect. I was wonder how everyone felt about this?

I base it on the build. While I usually attempt to allow a slot for a res signet or rebirth, it isn't always the case. To me, the build has preference, if it requires 8, the signet is ditched.

I think some people might feel someone else in the party will have res, and there won't be a situation where they are the only one alive and able to res. It is an unlikely situation, and usually a monk has resurrection skill. I haven't been in many situations where it comes down to me having to res a monk, or something similar.

I would like more people to bring res, however, because too many people rely on others, and it doesn't work.

I know. I believe that all profession should bring a res, unless in the situations you've stated. However, I've been told that it is the monk's job to res (which it is in most cases).

I believe that everyone should bring at least [skill=text]Rebirth[/skill]. If their build will not permit them to go /Mo, they should at least take a Res Sig, incase of a party wipe and res someone with Rebirth.

So, I believe anything /Mo should bring Rebirth, and always res after the fight and non-monk secondary should bring a res sig, to use in an emergency to res someone with Rebirth.

It depends on the area. If im the only level 20 in a 4 person team, in a low-level area, well ill bring my 8 skill slots because nothing will be alive long enough to kill the team-mates anyway. However, once you get into areas where theres a high chance of death, ill usually sacrifice my self heal for a rez, if there are decent monks on the team.

Pretty much agree with everything said by Puebert. I will res when playing a monk, but not during battle.

Rezes are like birth control. You might not use it for a long time, but you sure as hell will wish you had it when you do need it.

The only time I don't bring one is if I am going out to cap a skill or three and know my fellow players and the area well. Even then, I inform them. If you are in the situation where you don't have a res and the tide turns for the worse, do the team the courtesy of holding ground to let those with reusable res retreat and get everyone back up.

You should take as many res sigs as you expect deaths.

PVE -
My partner and I equip res sigs on 4 heroes and leave our two monks res-less. Neither of us carry a res. If we have more than 4 deaths between each boss kill, something serious is going wrong and its more efficient to start over with the right skills instead of trying to struggle through with deaths in each fight.

RA-
Unless you are a monk, bring a res sig or a means of ressing fast (GoS+res chant, FC+FoMF etc)

TA/HA/GvG -
Bring as one res sig for each death you think you can sustain and still win the battle.

If I'm playing with a pug, I'll bring a rez just because i don't know how much i can trust the other people's builds in terms of survivability. If I'm playing with my guild or henchies/heroes, I won't bother because I won't need it 99% of the time.

but it entirely depends on my build and the team dynamics.

Front-middle line character: I bring Restore Life if I can
Caster: I bring Rebirth.

If I can't /Mo because of my build I will bring Rez Signet unless either:
1. There are already 2 monks on the team, or
2. My build will not allow it.

This is for PvE though.

I bring rebirth always if my char is /Mo. Else I bring signet. IMO rebirth is the best res skill (and unless you're a warrior/exhausted, the "lose all your energy" thing isn't that big a deal when you consider you'll have time for it to regen as the revived people heal up and your party members regroup).

There is no reason or excuse for anyone not to bring a res of some kind either signet or hard. The only exception is the Monk if they need that slot but most Monks in PvE do bring a res.I don't care what their build calls for bring a res or the mission just may go south and good luck in finding another Monk.

I always bring a res in PVE (usually rebirth) because I will not rely on PUGGERs or Heroes/Hench to not all die (especially since PUGGERs will never retreat from a bad double or triple aggro where death is iminnent), but I can indeed rely on myself to not die.

Also always bring a res sig in PVP, even as a monk. Which isn't "popular" but it should be. So many times I've saved entire teams in PVP matches and went on to win those same matches due to me as a monk being the only player on my team standing and then starting a chain res. Likewise I've seen many enemy teams fail at matches they could have won if their monks had been wise enough to bring res sig. No doubt for posting this reality I'll be criticized by PVP players who think they are hardcore, but oh well I don't care. Giving the enemy team 25% -38% more power then your own (assuming it is wise enough to take res sig on everyone, which 99% of PVP teams are not although some of the best builds like IWAY did, which is a large factor why they won so much) by not taking res sigs on your monks does a huge disservice and is a giant handicap to yourself and your team.

I used to always bring a res. I usually do with henchmen/heros just cause they can aggro wierd sometimes (even when flagged).
However, in a guild group were pretty much nobody will ever die, I can get away without one.
Res sigs should always be used in PvP.

Always bring rez.

Once again there was a party wipe and the last one standing did not have a rez, which meant that we had to do it all over again :/

BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHH

Man first the nooby farming thread and now this...

Rez is a must have. Rebirth is a must never bring. Most people who bring rebirth are nooby monks, wammos, or rammos (I'm bringin it back! R/Mo)

Rez signet, sunpear rebirth signet- those if you don't have a monk secondary (or shouldn't have a monk secondary)
Ressurection Chant, all those other rezes... w/e they're all called there's hundreds now but my fav is chant.- What you should always bring if you're a monk.

Light of dwayna or whatever that spell that rezes all dead allys in the area is a worthless waste of 25e and should NEVER I repeat NEVER be brought into an area. Or bought for that matter.

PvP - Yes, no real excuses
PvE - I rarely bring a rez, usually when I mission with my guild the monks are good enough to realise when the fight is lost and back up so we can all fight another day, so I have had little need for one. With henchies, I bring my pet over rez sig, cos if you fail, you can just rejoin really...

If you aren't a monk you should always have a rez of some type.

I always bring a res of some kind. There have been many times where I was the only one standing when aggro went wrong. If you don't bring a res, I don't want you on my team.
