i was lurking near storage and found a strange chest behind a locked gate. any ideas on reason or if it was at one point used for something?

omg no broodijzer, it's the Auction House, you have to have beaten Shiro 5 times, and then you have to walk left to right on the door 17 times, at which time an NPC pops up and asks you for a donation of 100k to get the Auction House. EVERYONE knows that!
