Second Birthday

Guild Wars will be coming up to it's second birthday in a little over 2 months. As we know a new chapter is unlikely at that time, does anyone know of any plans ANet has to celebrate this? Of course this also means that some characters will also be 2 years old. I seem to remember Gaile saying their will be 2nd Birthday presents for characters: more mini-pets or something else? Anyone have any info or ideas? Or is this waaay too early

Maybe mini Stormseed Jacaranda. That would be pretty cool, possibly mini zhed , I wub zhed ^.^.

What Mini's I'd like to see:

• Mini Stormseed Jacarana
• Mini hero set? (zhed, Jin etc.)

All I can think of.

Still, I'd like to see what ANET comes up with.

Come on... everybody has it! And they don't do anything special.

2 birthday has to be special thing, and has to be customized for the character to show that we actually are playing for 2years.

This year we are getting mini pet rock (aka Lump of Charcoal)

A nice present for the second birthday would be to allow your actual pet to be seen in town.

Plus another mini-pet.

And mini-pet storage.

Maybe some sort of birthday hat would be good thats customized and can be worn in town. Also little things like a limitted supply of birthday cake or whatever that can give pve boosts like +1 all attributes. Or maybe they can give beer too heheh. Although wearing the old fashing pumpkin hat does show that you've been playing for a long time.

So far we have minis, Candy weapons & Masks. It would be cool to see something else our characters can wear.

I'd like to see something different. Maybe different kinds of weapon auras?
Maybe Armor skins that can be activated like pets, but only change the appearance of armor? (lol Birthday suit). Dunno. Minis are nice and all, but just more minis might get old.

Anyways, I'm hoping the do something clever.

Pets wouldn't be a good idea because they are too big and would cause some serious lag to those with only an average connection.

My idea for a birthday reward is to give each player a unique armour set (nothing fancy) that crresponds with the animal associated to the year of their birth, on the Chinese calendar. I'd also liek to see every character have an emote like those you get from playing HoH, but it shows something related to the 2nd Birthday of ANet.

Perhaps... but then again it would only be characters that had thier second birthdays, which is likely a rather small number.

But then again... minipets in town haven't caused any noticable problems... perhaps pets wouldn't either.

actually the size doesn't matter as much at the # of polys. The current minis are models of full-size monsters which may have even more polys than pets (since they tend to be more detailed and substantial). Things like boars & Stalkers & Rats have less detail than Giants, Shiro & Charr. Pets may even run faster.

also, the model complexity has nothing to do with server load. that only taxes the graphics processing.
Holy crap, that would own. Armor sets require LOTS of work tho. I don't know how they could pull it off. Maybe use a previously created set of armor & add a new skin?
The more I think about it, I would love to have a weapon aura. I suppose it could range from:
white: faint colored glow
blue: more substantial pulsing glow
purple: pulsing glow with some sparkles (kind of like the Warrior divine aura)
Gold: Something like the Dervish divine aura with the pulsing waves

Mini Razah for everyone who doesn't have him unlocked that way everyone who can't obtain him will have him.

Hmm... about... pets in town, like I already recommended... plus the ability to dye them!

Anyone want to wager that whatever we guess will ultimately be wrong?

I just wish the birthday present was based on the /age of your account and not your characters age. I deleted all my old characters a year ago, just before finding out about birthday presents and I missed out and never got 1. Now my new characters are approaching their 1 year anniversary, but my account is almost 2 years old.

I want a mini Glint, and a way to make it and my mini Kunnavang battle.

The only thing I have against another set of minipets is the additional storage they'll require. Given that, I'd prefer a title, an aura, an emote, or anything else that doesn't take up additional storage.

Well mini pets are nice but like everything else they take up alot of room in the little space we have already the hat maker was nice to free up space but the more they add cool looking mini's you now the more people are going to want them. I just found out after the event was over that the first 100 high lvl rollerbeetle players got a nice little rollerbeetle for a award, if more things like this are added I will be unable to store anything .

yeah It would be nice to have some kind of new storage for pets and dyes and such. The materials storage was one of the coolest things they made. Perhaps an aura you can turn on & off with /aura.
