[Dev Update] Guild List and European Server Issues

Hi, there,

There are two matters of concern to players, from what I can see this afternoon (Pacific time):

1. The European Server had another issue earlier today that caused a few thousand players to experience a disconnect. And I just got a note that a few thousand players may have been affected with a drop within the last hour, too. The network teams are working on both sides of the Atlantic to resolve this issue. If you have details, like when you were dropped, if you were able to reconnect right away (or how long you had to try before you could reconnect), please post those details here. (Could you please include your general location?) Writing to your region's Support address may also be quite helpful, as they could then ask you for specifics that help them nail down the cause of this issue. Again, I did want to let you know we're tracing the difficulty, and will continue to work to resolve this as soon as possible. Our apologies for the inconvenience!
2. The Guild List is, at times, showing glitched information. Players who are online may not show on the Guild List, or may show as online after they've left. Players who are in the guild may not appear to be guild members. One guild reported that only about half its members were properly showing on the list at that particular moment. (I'm unsure if that report referred to the general member list or the online list.) I've written to ask for an update on this repair, as well. What I think is happening is that it's a visual problem, that is, the Guild List itself is reporting inaccurately. I don't think people are being booted out of the guild or anything like that. One network programmer mentioned a suggestion that if a guild wants to reset its list, it can ask all members to log out (at the same time) for about 5 minutes, and then log back in, at which time the Guild List will return to proper order. Now, I completely understand that it's like herding cats to try to get guild, especially a larger one, to all log off, count to 5 minutes, and then log back on. I also know that if someone is in Halls or playing GvG, he's going to issue a few expletives at the very suggestion. Anyway, that's just a suggestion for a way to sort of "force" a reset. And of course the permanent fix to this problem is being worked on!

The problem where you seem to be guildless is easily resolved by just relogging, it doesn't have to be the entire guild ( was my experience ).

The same goes for the status, I have my status on online but it still shows me as offline in the guildroster. When I put my status on offline and back on online that's fixed as well.

Also, I was wondering, do you have the guildrosters etc. running on a seperate server?

Yeah...I noticed a werid problem with the guild roster as well...at least I know now its not just my internet...or computer.

I was dropped twice within ~15 minutes (?) of each other. The first time it asked me if I wanted to reconnect, I said yes, but it failed, so it went back to the login screen from where I automatically logged in without problem. The second time - at nearly exactly the same location in the Panjiang Peninsula (although I suspect that's just a coincidence) - the reconnection worked in one go. I don't know the exact times anymore. Around 19:00 GMT, plus or minus half an hour.
I'm located in the Netherlands.

Last update anet fixed the blurry icon problem but they didnt fix mine :T

My item icons are still blurry ><

Please join the thread on this subject that you will find in this forum. This thread is specifically for two issues -- connectivity for Europeans and Guild List issues. However, there is another thread, in which I've been active, that would be by far the best place to put reports of icon issues. Thanks.

When you appear Guildless, you can usually relog, as mentioned, or just wait 30 seconds with the window open. At least, in my case.
It appears that you just need to reaaply your information to the server(s).
Do you have more than one friend/guild server? And are they randomly selected? If that's the case, you might have a problem with a single server.

22:09 UK time, the guild's roster still show sign of error. At the moment we have 17 online guildies, but the roster only show 4 members being online.

Nice to hear, Gaile. Any chance you'll fix the bug where absolutely no chests spawn in DoA?

I just want to say thx to you and the rest of dev for making an awesome game and always working on making it even better. I have been playing since WBE and have all 3 ch and plan on getting ch 4 if/when it comes out =)

Hmm! Can you please direct me to a thread or threads for me to link? I am working on the other issues, but I'm happy to pass this along. Is that no chest, always, or no chests, sometimes, or what? (Sorry I don't know this bug; I've just been sorta swamped with other tracking.)

Thanks for any help you can give me. It's helpful for me to link a thread AND I also provide quotes from players when they provide valuable information that I want to get straight to the teams working on issues.

Oh it's coming. Or shall I say "it's said to be coming," since we've not released any info yet? I can't wait for an announcement, so we can talk a bit more about this.

Happened a few times to me and is constant to a few my guild mates.
It seems to happen when we relog from our character page, not a full relog.

Our guild roster also has had a lot of these problems. The bug is easily resolved by putting your status on offline and then switch back to online. I've been dropped twice (both whilst i was playing HA ), i'm located in the Netherlands, and so is my whole guild.

They've already fixed that. Unless the update just isn't working.

Since the latest update (Friday) where it said fixed bug that stopped chests from spawning in the Domain of Anguish, there have been absolutely no chests to spawn. (In stygian veil and ravenheart gloom at least) By that I don't mean they rarely spawned, I mean they never did.

EDIT: Didn't see a previous post, silly me. Redundant info.

im not sure about not appearing, but when I was showing improperly offline in my guild menu, I went to my friends list and changed my status then changed back to online and it was fine.

Usually happens when going into observer, i have to toggle my flist status to offline back to online to get myself to show up on the guild roster again.

When I logged out and then logged back it, the guild list still said I was offline. It was fixed when I set my status to offline and then back to online.
