Jan 29... maybe 4 months more until next campaign

Obviously ANet is not bound to release campaigns at the same time every year, but it is amazing to me see how quickly time has flown by. It doesn't feel like NF was released all that long ago

I wonder when we'll start hearing new information about chapter 4. I have high expectations after the massive upgrades in NF.

My bet is that if we do not hear any news about Ch4 by the end of this week then it will not be released as per their "new chapter every 6 months" rule. But they could prove me wrong to, they might just be keeping very quiet about it.

It wasn't all that long ago, it was only about 3 months.

For the previous two new chapters, ANet announced the game about 3 1/2 months ahead of release. Factions was announced in mid-January for end of April release and Nightfall was announced mid-July for end of October release. On that basis, the announcement is overdue if release is expected by the end of April again.

...and all of this has no bearing on when chapter 4 is released. They could announce it on Monday April 23 and release it "on time" on April 27 if they wanted to. Doubtful but whatever.

They usually announce when they have a preview event, not for just any reason.

That was wrong information. Everyone jumped on it though, and ever since, it's been popping it, posted as fact.

I would in all honesty prefer every 7-8 months, 2 per year is alot of work required... I just truly pray they run out of idea's and stop making new class' soon. It seems hard to balance 14+ professions by the end of next year. Its also quite ridiculous in the fact that the primary 6 professions will always be more powerful due to skill selection compared to the other classes. I propose they rotate the character selection such as next campaign have: eg.

Assasin, Ritualist, Dervish, Paragon, Monk, Mesmer, Elementalist, Ranger.

Then eventually rotate the class' so that maybe in a year or so every class with have the same amount of selection.

I would not say that the august date was "wrong" information: it was unsubstantiated rumor, and has been declared as such by Gaile. However, rumors like this have been denied before, both by ANet and other companies, and been proven true. Of course, I'm not saying they're changing the timeline. Just that saying it's true or false isn't as accurate as confirmed or denied.

So: the timeline rumor was denied. There was no further official word on when the next release would be (But, I know a guy who heard from a guy that...).

Actually I was on play.com earlier to buy a copy of NF for my niece and they have Guild Wars : Campaign 4 for pre-order with a release date of 1st September 2007.

That no more proves a date than the rumors do. When Anet announces it, we'll know. Until then it is rumor and speculation.

Game websites and magazines always make up false release dates. If you didn't know that by now you aren't much of a video game fan.

That is what I am baseing my guess on. And that is all it is, a guess. I very well could be wrong.

Don't mistake this for complaining about it being late. As long as ther is a Chapter 4 I'm happy. Right now they only thing we DO have as confirmed is that Chapter 4 is being worked on and has been since shortly after the Factions release.

True. If a website knows a game is coming out but dont know exactly when they usually just place a date 6+ months from now so they have time to change it.

I would have no problem whatsoever that this year would only see the release of one new chapter, if it meant that this chapter would surely be packed full with content and tested throughly before release. In fact, I'm kind of hoping this. But being a curious cat, I'd just like to know when that one chapter will be out!

I'd rather have Anet not make the deadline and delay the game for maybe 1-2 months and make the game complete w/o any bugs then have the game come out according to the whole "6 months" thing and have the game filled with problems, bugs, possible exploits, etc..

man i really cant wait till it comes out! This time I am going to wait to create a new prof though, I want to see which prof can farm more
