I think many would appreciate an official response on farming.

More and more we are seeing the death of solo farming builds.

I won't list them all, because it would be more information than anyone really wants to read. Mainly, the two builds that were nerfed the hardest are 55 Monk, and VwK Ritualist.

With this past weekend giving us some more nerfs to the farming scene, we are edging closer and closer to waving goodbye to many beloved farming builds.

Here is my main question : Is Anet specifically targeting these skills for the reason of squashing the majority of farmers, or are they honestly balancing them for gameplay?

One of the skills in question here, is Sympathetic Visage (Ancestor's Visage, but same deal). I can't see any reason why this skill needed the change that it got over the weekend, other than for the purpose of stopping VwK even more, or Famine / SV, AV.

Basically, my whole point of this post is to hopefully receive an official statement from Gaile or a member of the dev team with a full answer to this question. Is Anet targeting solo farmers?

don't fret. i'm sure people more creative than you are coming up with new farm builds at the moment, so just wait awhile and copy theirs when they decide to share it.

Yeah yeah. Anet also buffs some skills, which render my "stupid 8-skill bar" build less stupid than I want. Now I can't use it to piss people off anymore.

I don't farm anymore, I have all of the items / money that I need.

Also, when I did farm, I used my own builds, or if it WAS a 55 monk, it wasn't a cookie cutter. I used a Mo/Rt w/ Channeling. I'm merely posting because *gasp* guildies / alliance members are complaining about these updates.
