I'm thinking of basically welding both. Right now I have a banana scythe that i switch to so the degen won't murder me. I'm thinking of replacing that scythe with the deathbringer.
I do the same thing with my ranger who has a vamp bow - I use a CC bow with them. (something to equip just while running or something.)
But I'd rather just use one of them primarily.
I need a scythe comparison

Well with a couple forms and some rapid healing, that really doesn't matter much.
Plus, I can get an insignia that adds +10 while attacking, thus negating that completely.
the +200HP and my +84HP from melandru and mystic vigor kinda help too, so the -10 armor really isn't that serious.

well, when you know that vamp > sundering, the decision isnt that hard to make...
as for the -10 when attacking, ive never liked it much. sure you can add the +10 insignia, but you are at a net of 0 bonus armor. why not go 15% when enchanted or above 50 or in a stance with the +10 insignia. more armor the better, and you can easily meet the above conditions 100% of the time as well
(mystic vigor as you said, or conviction for stance). why gimp yourself when there is no need to?

I confused mystic vigor with that other spell that adds like +84 to my health. I keep forgetting it's name.
LEt's all add the fact that I just cap'd balthazar elite, which gives +40 armor for a full minute. Making it +30 while attacking. Still not bad.
I'm just saying that -10 isn't that serious in the long run.

i agree to a point. 10 armor isnt going to make or break you. but why not have it if you can?
blessed/brawler insignia + baltz + 15% dmg, -10 while attacking = 40 bonus armor, 15% dmg increase.
blessed/brawler insignia + baltz + 15% dmg if enchanted/in a stance = 50 bonus armor, 15% dmg increase.
seems like a waste to use -10 while attacking when you have a plethora of enchants and stances that last longer than their duration. and the skill you are talking about is vital boon. lasts 20 seconds with an 8 second recharge. still able to be kept up non stop.
but i take it this is for pve, so you can really run whatever you want. it will work and you will be fine. just dont know why you would gimp yourself on purpose.

Much better with either +15% dmg/when health>50% or +15% dmg/when enchanted insignias, you are not sacrafising anything with them. Yet a simple brawler insignia would cancel out the affect. Its a good idea just to use both for what sitution your in, if you need the health use the Gold scythe we'll just fighting mobs and your doing ok use the Deathbringer.

Umm.. Dervish's inscription = 15/enchant (duh).
And Sundering is worth it for once due to AOE spammage on a melee character. Vamp is just as good.. (we are NOT getting in Vamp vs. Sundering argument again).
As for -10 armor, if your dervish is screwed over by the -10 armor, then you probably won't last long without the penalty anyway. Mystic Regen...
Deathbringer isn't THAT bad, but it looks damn ugly.
And 15>50 is only worth about 3~5k.

+20% duration to your enchantments is usually much better than +30hp, unless you run a build that doesn't keep enchantments up.
Vampiric is better than sundering for just about any purpose related to dealing extra damage. The health degeneration can be ignored in combat, and when you're not in combat, simply swap to another weapon so you don't lose hp.
Seriously, the best scythe you can have for pretty much any conventional dervish build is vampiric/15^enchanted/+20% enchantments, unless you want zealous or earth damage.

if you go with a set of armor to negate your weapon penalty, i'd say go with a full set of energy armor and a -5 energy weapon, as you end up w/ 3 extra energy (the set gives +8) instead of just breaking even on the armor while attacking
