something i've noticed while doing pongmei valley runs is that the sandstorm>earthquake>aftershock combo is better if casted with a no fast casting bonus wand of sword, sometimes the instacast activates the scattering when you cast a quick earthquake>aftershock, still will give it a try, heck, a lot of tries XD
E/Me Smite only run: Mass aggro and quick!

It's possible with a mistform/meteor shower build, but the sandstorm build is just better.

QFT.
earthquake hits just when they begin to think "hey, that hurts, lets get out of here". you'll have the full potential with no fast cast.

Well, I see a bunch of videos are already up. Here's mine (its rather large, over 100 mb), if anyone wants to see a run that doesn't go as smoothly as possible:
http://files.filefront.com/6452543 (excuse the nonsensical title, I had originally made it for a couple of guildies)
Anyway, last night before checking on this post again I just decided to try and leeroy through the graspings myself with storm djinn's up, and they do lose you at the stairs to the ice wastes.
Also, I believe in your video you chain cast Sandstorm EQ and AS on graspings. I've noticed that if you pause slightly and cast EQ right as the first numbers pop up for Sandstorm, you can take graspings down a little further in health (to about two wand hits). Of course, in the end it makes no difference since you are using aftershock to finish them off; however, i throw this out because one time I waited a weird amount of time and I managed to kill them outright after casting aftershock. I have a feeling it was just a lucky occurence, because I have never managed to replicate that.
Also, coldfires are perfectly tankable if you have your enchants up; only shard storm will do any damage. I actually aggroed one of the patrols and "danced" with them for about a minute last night trying to lose aggro, eventually succeeding. killing them is possible but annoying, and definitely not worth the effort.

That's what I also do now all the time, because most of this run's time is waiting for patrols (these guys and the coldfires), so you can shape about 1 minute off if you don't have to wait for them.
ps, I sometimse have those little weird lags if i run through narrow spaces between enemies (for example the path to second room), they always seem to bodyblock me, but on my screen im already in safety and far away from them, while they are still hacking away on me, and 5 secs later I pop up between them, finding myself dead
I'm just never gonna run through these narrow spaces again, but it just sucks if the aatxes or coldfires kill you this way...

It's called rubberbanding, and is a known issue. But in PvP it's alot more annoying. Pops up regularly when fighting Asians.

Firstly glad my suggestion could help speed up the fastest known Smite run!
Secondly.. That happens to everyone. My suggestion: If you feel comfortable with the length left on your Storm Djinn's Haste, go AROUND the Aatxe that are camping out in the little room before the stairs, this will lose aggro extremely fast and chances are you won't have to go through a narrow area.
=P

Yeah, that's happened to me a couple times as well. However, I got really bored last night at the end of a smite run and went around seeing how many coldfires I could kill. Other than shard storm, they deal no damage, so you can tank forever (as long as you dodge maelstrom so you can recast stonflesh). It takes me about 2 minutes to kill one group of coldfires.
So all is not lost if you do aggro a group and aren't able to shake the aggro!

Smites on fire
lol you dont need that many skills for dmg!!!!
M shower
Bed of coals
lava font
in that order
= dead smites or grasping , no need to complicate
the other 5 skills can be for getting there and safty

It is, if you are looking to do a smite-only run (after all, with all the nerfs soloing aatxes quickly has become a dream of the past). Once you get some experience with this build you can easily do a run in sub-15 minutes (I think i'm averaging about 11-12 minutes a run).

And I think ele's are best at it atm
