Ectos need to be reviewed

As many of your knows the price of ectos is not the direct result of the fact that u need them to craft fissure armors, price is that high just are used as "money" in trades.
just like the us dollar, generaly accepted to be overpriced because is not just "united states currency" but the mean to buy oil. if oil started to be bought in other currencies aswell, most western countries will turn out sitting on an ocean of useless dollars, will start selling them with an obvious result in a fast drop of dollars value -u.s. prevents this with wars and partnerships with oil countries but this is not the point-

same in guild wars, considering the amount of traders and transaction is safe and conservative to say that the real fow value of ectos would be anywhere between 4-5k nowadays, the rest is just a fee payed to traders.

solution: remove ectos money value creating new special "checks", Platinum 10k ingots. stackable.
the value of these would be always fixed, as forger creates and buys back always for 10k. a stack of these worths 2.500.000.

let alone people with stacks and stacks of ectos, what u think?

yeah, that would be nice....apart from the obvious benifit of less money lost in price drops/surges of ectos used as currency, the price to get FoW armor would probably drop by a lot...which would be nice....

I see no real reason for this except to make FoW Armour cheaper..FoW Armour is suppose to be hard to obtain and tbh it isn't all that hard to get 1.3 million these days.

I think this will only go down well with those not willing to earn their cash to buy fissure Armour.

Main Reason for this: honest players would not be affected -this much- by ebayers anymore. price of ectos is this high because ebayers buy them as a mean to obtain the weapon they meant to spend their ebay gold for.
some will still buy ebay gold for fow armor, so ectos price will still be little overpriced because of this, but if to buy that crystalline sword people buy 100 checks instead of 150 ectos the price of ectos will go down, and that's a benefit for honest players

The prices of ectos are decided by those that sell them. Want the price lowered? Somehow convince the farmers that they don't need all that money and that they should sell them for less.

No, I do not have FoW armor, I think it is ghastly and repulsive compared to other sets of armor nowadays. If you can't afford it, too bad, you don't need it anyways.

i could buy fow if i wanted, have weapons worths more than that, i just but i prefer armors less people have, like vabbian.

I honestly don't understand all the crying about ectos. There are many builds available here and other places on the net that just about any person with 3 brain cells can run.

3 million copies sold .. 10 characters .. 105 ecto per armor set (non warrior). I assume you see where this is heading .. so might I ask why exactly ecto should only be 3k? Other than many are too lazy to work for it.

its droprate is lower then obby, yes, but not that much lower that it warrents almost triple the price, which is why I think ecto probably isnt worth the 8k it goes for now. 5k for ecto would probably be about right, if it wasnt used extensivly as a form of currency.

Farm enough for a set of FoW and see if you still agree with what you posted. Not a few .. I mean farm a set worth I will check back in a few months.

not intending to dodge your challenge there...but most of the classes I like to play as, the FoW armor looks like utter, err...poo... The sin FoW is not exactly an armor I would give up my 15k imperial (dyed black) to wear...although i would be the first person iv ever seen in the 17 or so months iv played to wear it...

leprekan has a valid point...you bust your balls for those 105 ecto then come back and tell us if each ecto is only worth 5k of your time.
