Uhhhh no experience for Ascending in Tyria?

So just now I attempted to ascend in Tyria on my Dervish. I easily succeeded since... well... it's the doppleganger.
Anyways, after killing the doppleganger (for the first time on this character), I didn't get my 51,000 exp. I got absolutely no experience and I am still level 16.

A major let-down :|

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

And are non-Tyrian characters not supposed to get the experience?

no they dont get...only tyrians

I have ascended my Elonian monk and got the 51k XP. The key is the quest "Hunted!", which you get after completing Consulate Docks mission. According to GuildWiki when you complete that quest you are considered ascended therefore no 50k ascension bonus.

Hmm, my last Tyrian character didn't get the experience from it either. But I had done the Closer to the Stars part in Cantha before that, so I guess it was counted as already ascended character.

That could be true although if you think about in cantha u cant try to go to the UW before you ascend whereas in tyria you can goto ToA and try. Also in factions it isnt ascended its Weh No Su right?

Yeah, in Factions it's called Weh No Su (closer to the stars). But it's the same principle as being ascended, just under Canthan culture using a Canthan term.
