Christmas Present Despair

Since the presents came out people have been glitching grentches into the lighthouse. Almost ever district i've been in has this but now something worse has come along.

People who pick up present and then think its their personal duty to not let anyone else get one. This guy was saying how it was unfair the grentches were stuck yet instead of freeing them he decides it would be better to get a present and go afk


I absolutely hate these people they waste everyones time and essentially ruin the game for everyone. Earlier in Dis 13 & 14 two people wouldnt drop present until someone paid them money

Cant Anet fix this either by making it so grentches dont get stuck, or putting a timelimit on present so if you hold them for too long BOOM!

Man some people get so serious about that stuff. But yeah I agree in noticing how the grentches seem to get stuck alot. What I usually do though is go in like an int district or just switching to anywhere in LA or Droks (or Kamadan, if its there too). Anyone know if Ascalon has this as well?

wow, so now people are holding presents hostage? they definitely need to fix that. fix the grentches or make the presents explode after you hold them for too long.

In the Wintersday towns presents spawn in certain locations. Players need to run these presents to any of the child npcs and in reward get shards. But whilst you run the presents Grentchs run after these presents and if they catch you/the present,they blow it up and go for the next one.

This mini game was ruined from the start. All i see are players waiting for the present to spawn,running it to the kid and then going back to the spawn point whilst under the effect of sugar rush...if you get a chance to pick it up you get called a noob for taking the "spawn campers present".

Usually I leave them alone, it's useless to compete with them when they are under the effect of sugar rush! I try to find a district that is almost empty and not stepping/compete on somebody who's waiting for the presents to spawn ....... avoiding to be abused!

Beside I do not care about presents very much!

Wouldn't it be better if they just spawned a few presents at once, or spawned them more rapidly? I always wondered why they didn't spawn a bunch, and have the grenchies split up and go after multiple presents. If they kept the presents coming they could also (somewhat) eliminate camping, and other complaints.

I was in the district with you King when that happened. That guy was intentionally trying to be a jerk - and succeeding.

Currently happening in Lions Arch district 7 at the moment....why do people have to ruin events?

Arenanet, PLEASE fix the grentches...this is bad.

It would be pretty funny if you held a gift box for like a minute it explodes and kills your character.

There should be a title for that, actually

and theres no way to take it off

Last year there were at least two presents spawning in each town, this year there is only one which is why people are able to hold a town to ransom like this and goes some way to making the spawn camping worse.
But then considering the reward for turning them in is only a candy cane shard and not a winter gift like last year, makes the whole thing pointless anyway.

Wait, so in this mini-game, there's only 1 present at a time? o.o Odds of a douche grabbing it - 90%. Woooot.

Only a CCS huh? Funny as ive gotten like 85 winter gifts from scrappy jhim in lions arch.

Uh, do you mean two spawns at once or two spawn points period? Because I was in Kamadan and there are at least 2 points. I've picked presents up from both.

Side note but...
I got abused by a twit for selling wintersday presents, I was advertising that you had a chance to get Peppermint Candy cane. Because you can I all ready have 20 pcc's from the presents so I know its possible Turns out this self appointed do good-er decided I was a scam artist and proceeded to spam me for about half an hour, with threats of reporting me for scamming.

But I also have unstuck the grentches a few times, let the douches afk with a present. There are still active place, some even have nice people. I had some one share a spawn spot with me. We took turn to grab the present. That's the wintersday spirit.

Nickhimself You can't report people for being a general douche, they have to do something wrong first, and Anet doesn't consider afking a crime, and being a douche is a social problem.

It's too late to complain man...Anet is on holiday break
