Can any of Preorder/GotY Weapons be able to upgrade anymore?

I noticed this problem occured right around Nightfall released but I am not finding any tread about this problem. Is anyone know this is consider a bug or is Anet permanently prevent players from upgrading their own bonus pack weapons? I noticed my Dragon Fang (Factions Preorder item) that I created before Nightfall released is still able to upgrade with new mod. Any bonus items created after Nightfall released can not be upgraded anymore.

They changed it when Nightfall came out. I think the reason was that they needed to when they changed how the weapon mods work now with Inscriptions etc. Not sure but I think thats it.

BTW your avatar reminds me of Gangs of New York...

They better fix all of those bonus weapons become upgradable again because this is not exactly what I have agree on when purchasing my bonus pack especially I just spent $5 upgrading my standard edition to Game of the Year Edition for additional bonus items and found out none of GotY items is upgradable as most of caster items was already completely useless as it is other than the Flatbow, Hammer, and the Shield.

I think it might be more a technical issue than a balance thing...

It all happened when the Salvage mechanics changed (Salvaging and Modding both work off the same windowed preview system now). At first they didn't change Bonus weapons at all and with the new salvage system people were (for a short while) able to salvage mods off the bonus weapons [people selling 20% longer scythe upgrades before Nightfall was even out yet was funny].

And given the fact that quest/collector stuff is salvagable now, I am under the impression that Salvagable-ness and Modable-ness are linked now. You can either do both to the item, or do Niether...

My dragon fang is worthless now, it used to be my best companion , but after I destroy it by accident, now the remake one can't be mod anymore

Anet give my money back or fix the problem

still have my insightful spiritbinder of enchanting.... but i trashed a few dagger sets that i cant replace now.

....and the game of the year weapons are definately now a joke... nevermore and rhino in particular....

( i realize the change happened when they added nightfall & inscriptions, etc... but some of the Old-School preorder items such as the War Pick and Ithas Bow arent even worth spawning for anything but show... and its a shame because those are even more leet than divine aura if you got them)
