How good are henchmen?

I'm not talking about how effective they are, but how good are they compared to players of similar levels? Are they equipped like heroes are when they join you, with non-max weapons and un-modded armor even at level 20? Do they improve toward the end of the game, or is the level 20 Devona you can hire in the Sunspear Sanctuary identical to the one you get at the Gate of Torment? Are their attributes placed somewhat logically or do they have rubbish builds? I guess it's hard to say since we can't really see, but I thought maybe someone could answer.

They have rubbish builds, problably max weapons without mods and the same for armor. They are about as good as the average player, but they also listen, whih makes it easier than playing with the average player.

I think the later henchmen are equal to the first lvl 20 henchmen, not sure.

yea the later hench are equal to the first lvl 20 hench... they have same armour skills etc

How good are henchmen? Only as good as the person using them.

And despite that, they still fight better then at least 9/10 PUGs I've played with..
